Weir was just a reserves player. He was never seen as 'one for the future' from the club itself. He did a wonderful job coming up from the U18s to end up captaining the reserves but for him to transition to 1st team football, he will have to move becoz he won't get that at United. He isn't good enough, not at that standard. He was a lot better than Jack Barmby tho, they both came p at the same time but Jack was let go of after his first season and Weir went on to become Reserves captain. Barmby was seen as the golden boy, something special, when he fist came over here because of his footballing dad but tbh he completely flopped, his attitude was terrible, never passed and couldn't keep hold of the ball. In the same year Weir was the one dominating and being a team player and them traits helped him outshine everyone. In the end Weir moved up and Jack was moved on. Weir was just an outstanding player with a brilliant work ethic that kept him with us for so long. But there are a lot of young talents at the club with a lot more potential and ability than weir.
