Reports Blaise Matuidi is currently in talks with Manchester United and has been allowed a short break from international duty. Mino Raiola is the players agent who is keen to engineer the move.

All these Pogba rumours, Hope they ain't true, Is anyone player worth a reported 100million pound deal? . Since leaving mufc I've not really followed his career, but watching him in the euro, s he has not set the tournament alight. Would we not be better getting a few more players in and spreading out this rumoured 100 million, It's one hell of a lump sum to spend, Just wish we would spread it out amongst other areas what need cover . Another defender or two, Speedy left winger, and a midfielder who can spray the ball about the pitch with ease. Possibly another high class striker. I know it's all rumours and paper talk, but boy oh boy if we do spend 100 million on Pogba, he better win us the league, the champions league, the fa cup, and even the Ryder Cup.

Foolish comment. What has the club's money got to do with anyone? Also, if Jose thinks it's worthwhile then who are we to disagree. Years of coaching badges and qualifications and experience far outweigh our experience on Champo and the Internet.

Eric - Some people were saying the same thing when we signed ADM, LVG knows what he is doing etc.
£100m seems too much for this guy when you benchmark it against what else is out there for less. The club spending a very large chunk of a transfer budget on this players does effect us, because it means that other players may not be signed, or other players need to be sold. Look how that impacted us last season.
Not our money but it is our club, I think there are far more intelligent things to do with £100m than spend it on Pogba. But then again it's not Jose's or Woody's money either so they can afford to take these kind of punts!
Where's LVG now after all the money he spunked? Probably sunning himself in Portugal with £10m+ extra in the bank, exactly where Jose and Woody will be if they get these big calls wrong. They even win if they lose, meanwhile we still support the club!

I know what you're saying but Jose will know his budget. If he feels it's best spent on Pogba rather than two other players then we have to go with it. I don't agree with buying a player who don't want to join like ADM, but if Real don't have the money to buy Pogba then they're not in the race to sign him.

I agree Eric, if the manager wants him and the board backs him then fair enough - he undoubtedly knows a lot more than most of us. However personally I think it is a gamble we don't need to take, especially as if we are not the players first choice. In a couple of years maybe Madrid will have the funds, then it's back to holding the club to ransom time!
I've not been overly impressed by Pogba all too often, for that type of money i would expect to see more.

I'd say most of the money comes from sponsorship and TV deals to be honest these days for Utd. £100m is crazy money in anybody's language and frankly, it's pretty disgusting but that's the way our "beautiful" game is going so I'd rather us be on board and get someone like him rather than let others be ahead of us. I still think we missed a trick with Renato Sanches.

money is nothing to do with the fans in my opinion if we can afford the best buy the best simple. We as a huge club have to pay huge sums for the best players we have a team full of world class stars pogba could turn out the best midfielder of his generation how much would scholes or keane cost now days a lot is the answer so we got the money spend on the best.

id take a Pogba for 100mil over 2 Sterlings or 3 Benteke's.
Id take Pogba over 1 Benteke, 1 Stering and 20mil change even!

It is funny how all United fans now are happy about spending over 100 million on one player. When city spent half of that, you would call them out as disgusting and ruining the PL. Really fickle lot.

I know that was an attempt at a wind up and 'banter' but you have posted this underneath loads of posts saying why we aren't too happy to pay £100 million. Also, it is an entirely different situation, City were just spending unlimited funds that were not their own, just a rich owner who could spend whatever, that is what people were annoyed about, not what the costs were.

IMO the 'worry' about Pogba going to Madrid is pointless.
If we sign him to a 4 or 5 year deal Madrid would have to pay big money to sign him away. (They can't by the way) .
In the next 2-3 years it is possible Utd return to being successful with Pogba at the heart of the team!
Paul may decide to stay at the club he joined as a boy, and became a United Legend with.
You just never know.
What people want can change over time.
