Apparently high spread reports in Italy that a deal for Pogba could be struck with United?!

Thanks for replying, I've not heard whether the noises are coming from player or agent but probably agent to hurry Madrid along if they are doing to move? Is there a feeling that Pogba might be overrated?

I'd prefer James. Frees up Real to buy Pogba as well so all parties benefit. Plus we don't spend £100m on a player that we sold for 3 peanuts and a jam sandwich.

I can't see Real breaking the transfer record for Pogba and that's what Juve want but we would. Pogba however is looking to push for deal with Real, so how much realisticly will they buy him for? And how much would it cost us?

If you want a player to move to a team outside the CL you're going to have to pay a lot in salary. If you want to beat Real Madrid to a signing, you're going to have to pay over the rate in transfer offer and agent fees. Personally I think pogba is worth roughly 50-60. But it's not my money and he's the player we most need imo. If they want 90 and he wants 250/ wk. do it. We're getting zlatan for no transfer fee, and should make some money from sales. I'm glad Jose is being stubborn as in recent years we've so easily moved off worthy targets and settled for lesser talent.

witsel 20 to 25 mil. works out same as amount of payment juve wants for pogba.
lets hope that the deal for mkitharan goes tru. before Chelsea or city decides to enter bidding at last min as usual to sign a player united wants.

As much as I would like to see Pogba sign, I don't really think he represents good value for money. I would love to get a couple of CM's in and one of them being Kante. I think he would be the ideal fit infront of the defence. I would also like to see them try and get Ramsay. It is interesting for Madrid, they want to buy big, but then they have to sell to buy. It would appear they don't want to lose anyone and still be able to sign big players - if only it was that easy.

Pogba is a wonderful player and I wouldn't be unhappy if he signed. Even if he did leave in a couple of years we'd probably get at least our money back for him if he plays well in that time which I'm very sure he will.
However, we could sign 3 players who would make our first 11 far better for a similar amount. This looks like a better option. Especially if we were to go for the likes of Kante, Kroos, Varane etc. Nevertheless, Jose has his targets and it's not too often he builds a poor side so whatever happens we will be far superior to the side we were last season.

Hi all.
On the subject of Pogba. The way i see it is the money at UTD is not my money so as long as the amount in question does not affect my club financially then money is irrelevant to me.
So, why don't we sign him, pay what ever it takes and put him what ever weage he asks for. the costs are a drop in the ocean for UTD and Pogba over time will pay back his costs in performances as he matures and becomes the worlds best player!
There are 3 alternative world class players that people say we could get for what we pay for Pogba but realistically we prob wouldt get the all 3 players, probably just one of them which means we stopped Pogba intrest to sign just 1 player.
AND some of the cost of Pogba will be off set against the money that Zlata will bring in and the fact he's a free transfer.
This is my opinion on the PP situation but i apreciate that its not a main stream opinion.

Verratti and Varane for that amount please. If not Verratti then Kante, Koke or Javi Martinez. Pogba is not worth half what they are asking.

With respect to fellow posters, I believe that Ed002 is hinting at something else going on with Pigba, as well as his massive transfer fee. I suspect his delightful agent is manipulating things again, as he did with Pigba's move to Juventus, and is demanding the Earth at for the highest price - he sees Pogba as his cash cow, probably not thinking of his career but the money he can make instead. Thus I can only imagine what else is being demanded to make Madrid step back. Hope we keep well clear of them both!

All the comments about whios is worth how many £million are a bit pointless, United are not playing championship manager.
If United want a player, the selling club are willing to let them go and the player wants to come then go and make the deal.
It's not about the relative 'worth'of the player. The fee is more about how long ois left on their contract, etc.

I personally feel that Pogba is a mercenary along with his agent. He plans to maximise his earnings and marketability as quick as possible.
Juventus is a great club but to do that he needs to be at a Barca/ Madrid or one of the big PL clubs.
I try not to worry about the money as long as 1 big signing does not prevent other areas from being improved.
If Mourinho wants him, and Woodward cam make it happen we should all be happy. He will in 2/ 3 years move on to Madrid/ PSG but may by then have got us the PL and CL titles.
Just don't drag it on all summer.

Oh let's buy Pogba. Yet nobody bar 1 or 2 read what Ed002 said. Pogba/ Agents DEMANDS meant RM stepping back.
IMO I bet he wants a lot of clauses in his contract. So let's buy Pogba for €100 million and loose him for App €25 million next season 2017 when he throws a tantrum or finds a watch.
