Reports that blind may be sold, not withstanding his loyalty to lvg its a surprise in some ways he had a decent season and had good versatility.

Be a shame if Blind was to go as like you say its good to have a player with such versatility.
When he played CDM he just did the simple stuff and kept the ball moving. When he played CB, he was good and did the job asked.
We do have a heavily stocked central midfield, but as a back up for CB (assuming another comes in) and LB, he isn't a bad option.

Not big, powerful and mobile he's not a Jose player. Don't be surprised to see two new CB's come in. We have look vulnerable at the back whenever the team has tried to push on.

Won't lose sleep over either. Both top professionals, but were either of them ever United type players. Hopefully there's a defensive clear out of Blind, Jones and Rojo, get in 2 new centrebacks and we're set in that department.

Not a player I see excelling under Mourinho. He has filled in well but is very much a jack of all trades type of player. I wouldn't lose any sleep if he was sold, even though he is quite the gentleman.

Again agree he's not a Mourinho type player but would keep blind over Rojo who wouldn't look out of place in Div 2.

I like Blind, think he offers good cover and commitment in a multitude of places. However if Mourinho does not fancy him (and he is not particularly a Mourinho type player) then in the same sense of Mata I would sooner a sale take place and the funds be freed up for him to bring the players in that he wants to mould the team in his style.
£10m for Blind and £20m for Mata would pay for a dynamic midfielder in the Naingolan/ Matic mould that would improve our midfield.

I'd be gutted to see Blind go. This club has been successful with unsung heroes who put a shift in regardless of where they play. Blind falls into this category for me. He will put in 110% on and off the pitch no matter what he's asked to do. I'd much rather have him in the squad than have £10m towards someone on 3 x the wage who sulks when he doesn't start it isn't playing well (e. g. Hazard) . It's not like we need to sell to buy, so I'd much rather keep him.

Blind did alright, but don't mind if we sell him. Our defensive record in stats show that we are good, but many have forgotten that ddg has saved our matches too many times. Our defense is not as good as everyone thinks.

Anyway, for me, rojo and jones deserve the axe more than blind. Been spending our few seasons healing jones jus for him to stand. Rojo is always out of position, can't cross for a slice of meat.

I would prefer if we didn't go to Chelsea for any of there players, that's including Hazard and specially Matic, who I think hasn't done anything worth praising over the last year.
When I see United being linked to Chelsea players I cannot take it seriously. The same players who had Mourinho out of the job by Xmas?! .
These great players who couldn't take criticism off there manager and chose to have him sacked? .
The way I see it, there's a reason Chelsea got Pedro and we spent 36m on Martial, and I hope that doesn't change!

Yes good keepers do bail us out in matches. What i'm saying is that he has "over-bailed" us. Overexposed is what i'm saying. When keepers have to bail us match day in and out, then that means the defense is not doing a good job. What if ddg isn't as on form this seasons compared to last?
Thats jus my opinion though.

Lazy journalism as they are easy targets to stir the pot one for being dutch and having a connection to LVG and one obviously for being sold previously by mourinho. I can see mata eventually going but no way on blind unless he wants to go.

Brad- I bet you were the sort of person that hates Mourinho and called him out, now all you want to do is praise him? Mata has been one of UTD's best players for two years, and because JM doesn't like him neither do you!
IMO Blind is a brilliant player, as he can play anywhere and pull it off well. Even if he's on the bench he is still a huge asset. You're also stating you want a player like Matic, now he's good at defending but rubbish everywhere else.

Many-Jambo. You appear to have not read my post properly. I like Blind and actually was saying at. the start of the season we should have stick with him and Smalling. I also like Mata but believe. We don't play him correctly.
I also believe that if a manager does not fancy a player or that player does not fit the style of play then it is not a partnership that will flourish.
I have, always admired Mourinho and thought he should have been brought in after sir alex. Am I concerned by hia negative play. yes., am I excited for the future after lvg poor play yes.
Not sure my comments lead to your assumptions I am afraid.

It concerns me that once again like cup final day the press seem to have been briefed about Mata and Blind by Jose's people. Both players have represented the club with enormous class and dignity both on the pitch and off it with community and charity work. When both have been dropped they haven't cried to the press like Falcao or Di Maria but have worked harder to get back in. Its right that Jose bring in players that suit his system but its important that people are treated right in the process. I can absolutely see Blind at Barcelona and he might end up making us look very foolish in the future.

Mata will be back at Valencia next season.
