Hope everybody is good. ed001 if you are about and get a chance to reply do you know where united are looking to strengthen at the minute and what the current situation is with players they may be looking at? any chance on ousmane dembele or is he off somewhere else? thanks.
{Ed001's Note - United are looking at loads of players, so many that it is difficult to know what the priority actually is. Dembele is certainly one they are very interested in, but there are a whole host of teams chasing him. The only thing that seems sure is that they are looking almost entirely at players under the age of 25. It is difficult to tell which players are being looked at with a view to strengthening and which are being looked at in case a replacement is needed.
The club are looking at keepers, but are they intended as back ups to De Gea or replacements in case he leaves? From what I have been told, rather than having to infer, a centre back is a priority. The club are also chasing a 'marquee' type signing still, such as a Neymar. I personally believe that to be a mistake, the team should be built first, then you add the star. Cantona joined you as the cherry on top of the icing, not as the piece to build around.}

Is there any chance at all that the latest Bale to leave Spain rumours have any substance behind them aside from angling for a pay rise?
If possible then surely he should be the 'marque' that Man Utd focus on!
{Ed001's Note - if Bale becomes available, Manchester United would certainly be interested, the question is whether he would be interested in joining United. He certainly wasn't in the past. Nor City for that matter. He wants to stay and be a success with Madrid. Unless there is a complete breakdown in the relationship between the club and the player, it is probably best to forget about him. They have Isco, Kroos, James that are all unwanted right now. I am sure I am forgetting someone as well. Plus Ronaldo would be available for the right price. Bale is way down the list of players they want to offload.}

I think a Mourinho summer would see quite a bit spent on quality, probably with the marquee being James. I'd love to see Kroos, Sanches, Stones and James signed as priorities and would still love to see a move for Ibra. Those 5 are asking a little too much though I think.
Do you know if there is anything in the Manolas rumours?

Realistically we need a central defender a central midfielder and a winger and if DDG goes a keeper to i don't much care for media predictions on transfers as they chat $hit I do think if we can nick fourth we will sign some experienced players like your Hummels Lukakau Griezmann Xhaka or Gundogan players that are all likely to move this summer. No chance Naymar or Bale I think the young players we are looking at like Dembele and Sanchez are targets if we don't get champions league I would imagine there is plan A through to Z about time woody should be getting the hang of this transfer business now I hope and we see the improvements that are glaringly obvious.

Surely we need to forget this marquee stuff and sort out the first team out first, we need 2x CB's, a dynamic CM, a creative CM, a RW, a CF and more than likey 2 GK to replace DDG and Romero, this team is light years from where it should be yet has the arrogance to think Neymar et al is going to join this United team, in dream land whoever is running the show.
We need experience alongside our youth through the spine of the team. Lloris, Stones, Hummels, Kante, Kroos, Sanches, Zlatan would be ideal to me. Already have Darmian, Shaw, Martial, Rooney to add to that, CBJ, Fosu, Rash, Memphis, Morgan, Ander, smalling, Blind also. Big changes still needed.

If ddg leaves we need a keeper like butland, ter stegen, Leno or lloris. I think we need a right back as I'm unconvinced by Valencia or darmian. Rather see fosu-mensah play in that position than those two but I suspect his position will end up as a centre back or defensive midfielder. Somebody like Coleman perhaps as right back or perhaps fabinho or carvahal. I'm not really up to speed with right backs in europe. I feel we need two centre backs one to start and one maybe as back up. Laporte, stones, varane any of those in a ideal world. Not a huge fan of hummels. It's clear we need to address this area. We need a midfield player that can do a bit of everything and I know we've been linked with sanches and from what I've seen he'd be a good addition. We need a winger and I'd love someone like grezzman or reus but without champions league football it's unlikely. We clearly need to add a quality front man also. Not adding the players we needed in these positions in the summer coupled with letting quality ones go has hit us badly this season. We need a manager to come in and have the balls to gut the squad getting rid of the deadwood and bringing in quality.

Does that rule united out of a move for ibrahimovic or because he's out of contract he can be an exception to the rule?

I would take Kroos in a heartbeat. The prospect of having a midfield with herrera, Kroos and scheiderlin is mouthwatering. With some pace and decent movement up front our attacking play should be really good.
