Hi Ed,
Do you have any info on who Dani Alves has nearly agreed to join? His agent has said he is close to signing a deal with a new club thereby leaving Barca at the end of the season.
Is it us? I hope not as he is not a better option than Clyne or Coleman.

Better option than Clyne or Coleman? The guy is 31 for crying out loud! We should be looking at young talent, or at least players in their prime. We should absolutely not grossly overpay (wages) for fading stars who might be good for a season but will all too soon end up on gardening leave. We are Manchester United, and the logic should be simple, if Barcelona don't want him, neither should we!

Perspectve Hinksey. Alves is till a top defender. LVG has said that McNair could be our rb for the next 10 years so why bring in another young full back to block his development? Bring in Alves for Mcnair to learn from and then let him take over when Alves' contract runs out. All that without spedning a 15m plus fee for a new rb.
