Hi Guys, long time reader of this page but I've never posted before. Was just wondering how far the ED's think we are from having a squad or a first 11 that can challenge for the title? Do you guys think it's a case of a good manager who can get the best out of our players, or is it that we're just behind other teams man for man. Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - first 11 is capable of challenging, but you need a bit of improvement to the squad to make it a sustained challenge. The right manager will help a lot, but you do need a bit of depth to the squad (or luck with injuries and suspensions) to get through an entire season.}

I said yesterday ideally we need 6 signings spread over two summers. Anything else can come from the academy.

Ed001 even our first 11 if they played 38 games start to finish would not be guaranteed top 4.
Squad depth is pathetic in reality in some positions.
With a gale force wind behind them and as long as they had every slice of luck going our current first 11 would potentially finish 3rd / 4th i reckon.

{Ed001's Note - I think you would be surprised with the right manager just what they could do.}

Ed001 i'd be shocked mate. That was our first 11 v wolves in cup 1/ 4 final. That 11 would never win the league in a million years.
Maybe young in for dalot but that's mite of a hinderance imo.

{Ed001's Note - challenging and winning are different things though mate.}

This will be our 6th season without a meaningful challenge i hope next year will see a major improvement. that's the life of a footy supporter. Living in hope😂.
