I am loathe to criticise in team I have supported for over 50 years but I was disappointed that on Saturday the United players refused to put the ball out of play despite sanchez lying in the penalty area clutching his knee. Regardless of what the squad think of him i think the players were bang out of order in doing what they did. Clearly it would have made no difference how quickly the medics got to him but now he is going to be out for a few weeks I just wonder if any of the players are feeling slightly guilty.

Allan,

I hope this is a joke?

Why would they feel guilty, players go down every game and no player could tell what his injury was,
I think you getting a bit carried away with this one.

He's not watched rugby where they just play around the injured player and only stop if they need to get a stretcher or paramedic on.

Sanchez was right in front of me and it was almost comical. He went through all the motions of being crippled, then he got up, then he went down again, all accompanied by theatrical gestures. I think it said a lot about his standing with his team mates that they pretty much ignored him. Quite right too.

Ajh your a gas man😂😂 after all your lectures about bullying in the work place. But it ok because your not a big sanchez fan.
Personally i'm in favour of the rugby rule of allowing the trainer on the field to treat while the game goes on. It would cut out a lot of time wasting and feigning injuries.
As a coach for a couple of seasons i told the ref and opposing manager before the game that my side will not put the ball out of play for anything other than an obvious head injury and we don't expect them to put the ball out for us. It worked well as it left it up to the ref to decide if it was an injury worth stopping a game for. I hate when teams do it.
Look at the stats and i bet you would find 95% of the time the ball is put out of play the players us usually fit to continue. Its all a load of nonsense.

Ken it works well in rugby as play is generally congested to an area of the pitch for several minutes. Football can go end to end and side to side in seconds. I see where you are coming from but there would be interference far too often and it won’t be long before the physio accidentally gets in the way and players start to go down intentionally outside their own penalty area to disrupt the flow and cut off attacking areas.

There's a lot in rugby that should be brought over. VRA is a start. The injury on pitch should be another as should the concussion rules. Also you hardly ever see players backchatting the ref.

You play until the whistle.
