Having read the posts following FZZ comments, and the talk of switching club, I thought I would tell you a true story.
My father wasn't a football fan, so I can't really say how, from 5 years old I loved United. It wasn't until I was 7 or 8 that I started going to games with a friend and his dad, but I was hooked.
The only member of my family that was a football fan was my uncle on my mums side. He was, and still is a massive City fan, so much so he was in the daily Mirror in the 70's because he missed his own wedding reception to go to a game.
He was always trying to convince me to switch allegiance, but got nowhere. So one Christmas he bought me a Man City bag and scarf.
I wasn't happy and it got shoved away in a cupboard, {my mum wouldn't let me bin it. }, and there it stayed.
Then one day in 1977 my regular school bag broke, and my mum, not understanding the cruelty of it, made me use the City bag.
Obviously unhappy, i stomped off to school. I got to the crossing half way there, and proceeded to cross on the green man. Anyway getting to my point, i got run over by a car going through a red light.
Fortunately i wasn't seriously hurt, but it was the only time i ever used that bag.
Maybe a coincidence or maybe fate, but something to think about if you ever consider crossing to the dark side.

Great story mate thanks for sharing. You can’t change who you support. Once you are a united fan, you are always one.

Love it, mate :)

I'll tell your story to my twin boys. They're only 4 and just starting to show an interest in football so your story is very apt especially considering City are such a force nowadays. Should make them think twice before defecting! 😂

On second thoughts I think I'll keep it to myself and spare their nightmares but thanks for sharing.

BTW What do you do if your kids support City? Just asking for a friend! 😉

Goodnight ladies and gents big day tomorrow 🤞.

My 9 months old son Shahmeer is a United fan already, whenever he is with me and I am wearing the club kit on matchdays, he would stare on the crest, I see his little fingers moving on the crest and that twinkle in his deep eyes.
He is my junior red devil ;)

Great story, and loved that the driver ran a red in both senses.
