The game last night DID matter. It was an opportunity for fringe players to come in and stake a claim. None did. Mourinho took two young players with him and should have given them some experience. The performance was very poor - again. The team was not structured in such a way to cause any problems to the opposition. No pace, no proper wide men. No one impressed.
Depressing.

In fairness, Romero came in and showed he’s a very competent back up keeper.

Win the game and we top the group, we look pretty foolish now having basically thrown the game. When did it become acceptable for United to think anything other than winning was okay?

Did we throw the game? I thought that team was more than capable of beating Valencia but they didn't perform. Don't think we look foolish at all really, if teams didn't rest players in these games Juve wouldn't have lost either.

We have our biggest away game of the season on Sunday, I am glad we rested players for that. As per Shappy yesterday finishing 2nd in the group isn't the end of the world, we should get a big team in the next round and we have to beat them at some point, I am looking forward to the draw.

Does playing Rojo at lb constitute throwing the game? Or playing Jones? 🤔.

Sunday was the priority as far as I'm concerted.
Last night showed how poor a squad we have but most people realise that.
