Liverpool fan here, comes in peace and only slightly in jest,
From an outside perspective, it seems like you (as a community/ fan base) is where we were just a few years ago.
All it takes is one win to make Fellaini the greatest DM there ever was, and if I pop by a week later, the pits of hell has opened up in M-town, and JM is Satan himself. Where's the balance?
I, for one, feel ashamed of how our fans talk (thanks social media, and to a much lesser extent this moderated forum) about our players, and I obviously don't think we have any more right to win anything than anyone else. But I am so happy and proud that the lads might actually be contenders this year. If we don't win - darn, next year is our year. ;)
It's only a game of footie. And it is slightly more than that. But absolutely nothing warrants, for example, death threats like Karius recieved, and I do hope people will get punished, as these behaviors just cannot continue. I hope you're better than us. (Now that is a sentence I don't plan to ever use again. )
So, what I am saying is, i guess, you'll bounce back from this direness you are experiencing. Hopefully not too soon. But if we made it through the Hodgson years to this, you'll eventually, no doubt about it, come out well after this episode. When you do, please come see us. You'll find us on our perch.

He's got a point though. We're mot them yet. But people at the top need to start making decisions and more importantly need to start making the right decisions. Or else we will become them. 5 seasons can quickly become 20. We don't have a god given right to win but we expect a challenge.

The succession plan from ferguson was handled very very badly and I'm not just talking about moyes. Chief exec. Dof. Scouting, training and facilities.
A combination of the fergies managements, minimal challengers, too much leeway from refs, us having the majority of the money and 3 points given to cus by at least 12 clubs before a balls was kicked home and away helped to cover over a lot of work that should have and need to be done.

No look i'm 38 years young I've had a United shirt on me since birth and can only say I remember from big rons final full season onwards, so I guess through luck I have seen 20 odd years of glory bookended by 5 years either side of not so much.
Enjoy your challenge for the league this year. I will. especially when the pressure gets to ye and ye implode as ye will at which point I will on the Liverpool page rubbing your nose rightly in it.
Can't wait to knock you off your imaginary perch as we will. The league never lies, let's not lose sight of where your team finished last season and where mine did eh. #theleaguewasneverwoninseptember.

No probs Ross seems we both have a history of missing out on the league for a quarter of a century 🤢. If we reach that perch I will keep my eyes open for you matey.
