Eds, a report in the paper today that we want to appoint a director of football. Any truth in this? I know Ed002 previously said our original choice was not interested. Thanks.

Thanks Ed. Are their any potential candidates who you feel would be a good fit for the club?
{Ed002's Note - There is probably only one option within the club and I don't know if they would look to him, John Murtough. The guy they really wanted is employed elsewhere right now and would likely not welcome an approach or any discussion about the job. If they had looked a few weeks ago and were willing to take a bit of a chance, then Jordi Cruyff would have been, in my view, a good pick - but he has just taken another job. A standout like Rui Costa would be a great solution but again he is in work. So right now they will have a third providing advise and they may well use the third party to assist in the full process.}

Hi ed, was this third party the one that advised them in the summer window?
It sounded as though Jose had his preferred targets and United didn't opt for those as they felt there wasn't enough value.
It's just interesting to know who was giving advice to Ed Woodward assuming that it wasn't Ed making the calls himself. Be really interested to know.

I know you don't like hypothetical situations or "Ifs" but I want to ask if you were to choose a DoF for Manchester United among the available options going forward, who do you think will be better in improving our footballing sphere (pun intended)?
