I would just like to let you all know about a story unfolding in cork for the last few days.
Liam Miller's tribute match is to be held in turners cross in September a good cause.
Anyway the tickets went on sale this morning g,7,000 tickets sold out in a minute, tried to get them myself and couldn't even though I go to that ground at least once a month since I was about 10.
Man United/ Celtic legends v republic of Ireland legends, the United players are, rio Ferdinand, Nicky butt Ryan giggs japp Stam Luis saha Denis Irwin Paul scholes and captained by Roy Keane.
Anyway the big problem is here in cork the people want it moved to pairc ui caoimh the cork gaa ground which holds 45,000 and the cork gaa are happy for the game to go ahead there but the big wigs in Dublin nothing at all to do with them won't let the football game to go ahead there. But if the game was on in Dublin and they were getting money out of it then they would let it. We have had hundreds of concerts in pairc ui caoimh. Gareth Brooks loads of clowns played there but they have a problem about a football game and Liam Miller played gaa when he was young.
The players now are having a go, the people of cork here will start a riot over this, there's a lot of angry people here in cork today.
Everyone wants it changed but the big wig clowns in Dublin.
There's a lot of people coming from Manchester as well for this game.
They should stick their fingers up at them and move it to old Trafford
I go to a lot of gaa games and if they don't change this there attendance in cork will fall dramatically, it's on all the radio stations over here the whole country is up in arms over it.
Sorry about the rant .

No thanks for the update. Hopefully this gets sorted.

Unfortunately, Leahy, the GAA can be as close-minded as those aul duffers at the FA, or any other sporting governing body run by old farts. Shocking decision.

20 Jul 2018 16:45:20
True Steve. Not a brain cell between them.

20 Jul 2018 18:37:27
its a proud tradition Leahy, no english games on GAA ground, there's a simple solution, switch the game to Celtic Park or Old Trafford.

21 Jul 2018 01:54:30
James this is about a boy that died 36 years of age, it's about raising money for a trust for his 3 young kids, nothing at all to do with being English or Irish. or this game shouldn't be played here or there.
Stupid politics shouldn't come in to this.

21 Jul 2018 18:12:46
i know all about Liam, i watched him from when he was a youth player Leahy, but as you know as a Cork man this runs deeper than sport, no one should forget the real reason, also after the Croke Park massacre there will always be a reluctance for change, but then again they did lift the ban on security forces playing GAA sports, something i couldn't believe happened and i was very much against it.

21 Jul 2018 20:28:35
And unfortunately, James, it's views like that which makes progress on our island as far away as ever.

21 Jul 2018 20:33:08
James ever gaa ground in Ireland have to go before congress for outside use except one pitch which is croke park, now the clowns want to control the whole lot of gaa grounds in Ireland. but make an exception for croke park
Roy Keane was at the launch of the Liam Miller game. Off camera he spoke to a few boys I know, disgusted he is. Now I was talking to Karl shepherd the other day and he played with Liam for cork. everyone of that team and the whole of cork want this game in pairc ui caoimh
The football community of cork, Celtic, Manchester United have come together to do this for the boy and his family.
The boy played gaa when he was younger. They had a rugby game in croke park. They have concerts in most gaa grounds.
It has to be played in cork and that's the biggest venue.
No one can get tickets for turners cross and I know a lot of people there and they can't be got.

21 Jul 2018 23:22:54
Leahy i never said i didn't hope there was a compromise in the situation, i'm just explaining that the GAA have had the policy in place since its inception, the Aviva Stadium could also hold the game to maxamise funds, Scott Brown recently donated money to the family from his recent testimonial against Ireland.

22 Jul 2018 10:10:19
James the last place that game will be played is Dublin.
They need to change their policy then James the ones that were made in the stone age but they won't because then they might get asked about paying the players who deserve it. The people of cork wrote a letter to the head of gaa. if they don't change it the people of cork will not be going to gaa games for a long long time, and we are a proud close bunch down here, but don't mess with one of our own from cork. dublin is a different Ireland James to the rest of the country. They think Ireland is in Dublin, They don't realise Dublin is in Ireland. they are not liked even when they play gaa whatever county they play the whole country will cheer on the other county. i could be here telling you things the gaa have done for the night. they are corrupt

Liams family want the game in cork. aand that's good enough for us.

22 Jul 2018 10:21:18
Their is a meeting planned with the match organisers and the GAA Leahy, it looks like the GAA are going to relent and allow the game to take place on GAA ground.

22 Jul 2018 10:38:28
i know all about the Dubs Leahy, apart from people from Tallaght and Finglass the rest of them think they are Brits lol.
