Will be interesting to see if the new Madrid Coach' comments on Bale and saying Messi is the best ever will impact Ronaldo and Bale's futures? Also read he's a big fan of Isco and Asensio so wonder where Bale will fit in all this.

{Ed002's Note - It is not his decision.}

Isn’t it that Perez wants Bale to stay?

{Ed002's Note - There is a plan at Real Madrid and in the big scheme of things by next summer a number of high profile players will not be part of it.}

Wont be Lopetegui's decision Ed002? Sorry, slightly confused. Anyhow, will be interesting to see how he gets Madrid playing. Taken Busquests, D. Silva, Iniesta, Saul, Koke, Isco, Asensio, Thiago all to the WC, so seems more possession orientated.

{Ed002's Note - The coach will be part of the process but the plan is in place.}

12 Jun 2018 17:53:49
Oh right, thanks Ed002. let's just hope De Gea isn't a part of the plans.

{Ed002's Note - I have explained their plans.}

12 Jun 2018 18:14:05
Yes i have seen them Ed002, unfortunately Dave's a part of the plan like recent years but we've managed to keep him at United. If they sign Courtois/ Allisson that should keep De Gea at Utd for many years.

Allisom wants real madrid and if de gea wantrd spain that badly it wouldve happened by now and wouldve moved back there.

{Ed001's Note - to who? Only Real Madrid and Barcelona could afford him and only Madrid are looking for a first choice keeper out of those two. We already seen what happened when they tried to buy him - the fans forced the plan to be shelved. A good World Cup would change that immediately, so hope he has a stinker so they go for Alisson who wants to go there.}

Here's to hoping Spain get knocked out in the group stages Ed001, can't wait to see William Carvalho, Adrien Silva and Joao Mario pass Busquets Iniesta Silva etc off the park on friday lol. Which team are you supporting anyway Ed001?

{Ed001's Note - I don't really care, I just pick who has the most Liverpool players in it when I watch international footie. However, if I had to choose, I would just like to see someone other than a European and South American team win it. That would be an amazing moment to live through seeing an Asian or African team break their duck. Though I doubt it will happen.}

Really looking forward to Russia v Saudi I have to say.

It would be absolutely fantastic if an African team could win the World Cup. I love what the African teams bring to the tournament, not just the football but the culture. It's a shame that the federations seem to be so chaotic at times. But hopefully things are changing and it's good to see Africans coaching their respective national teams.
I'm hoping Nigeria cause a few upsets, Morocco as well.

{Ed001's Note - things don't seem to be changing overall. Just look at what is happening in Ghana, with the FA there disbanded.}

13 Jun 2018 08:39:02
You're right, the bigger picture is pretty grim. Ghana are a "good" example of how disorganised and corrupt the African federations can be. I really felt that team would make the final. And now, like you say, total chaos.
I was in Ghana in 2005. The country is football crazy. Sport generally actually. It's sad that they haven't been able to build on the achievements of 2010.
I think there is change happening in some federations. I'm hoping Cisse does well with Senegal.
Maybe if Morocco host 2026, the situation will have improved.

{Ed001's Note - fingers crossed, as it would benefit the game if all continents were better organised.}

Would love to see Morocco do well. Love the country it is so beautiful with great culture and friendly people. A World Cup bid there would be very interesting because it is still fairly untouched in terms development which is part of its charm for me. I wouldn’t want that to be changed if they were to host the World Cup.

Totally agree with you Park. I've travelled a fair bit and been to Morocco a few times. Incredibly friendly people. I've never been invited into so many people's homes to eat with the family. Either there or Sri Lanka. Great practical jokers in Morocco. Football crazy too.
