I think it will be huge mistake for Arsenal to appoint Arteta.

I thoght after Wenger leaving they might want to go back to the top but they are making a dreadful choice.

Do you guys reckon he will make a good manager for them?

{Ed025's Note - big mistake if you ask me singh, i could be proved wrong but its a massive gamble they would be taking mate..

Agree2 Disagree0

Massive gamble. Something arsenal have done really well which we didn’t do is that they have revamped the structure in the club and got people in important places. So that if the manager leaves it does not affect them as much. We massively mismanaged the handover between Fergie and Moyes and even now there is he need for a director of football but we still don’t have one. Think arteta is probably not the right choice but the structure of the club has been addressed well so if they need to change it shouldn’t cause too much disruption.

They’ve learnt nothing from our mess. Th No about the JD, successful, managed big players, European experience, an untried Manager ticks none of those boxes. Neither did Moyes. What is bizarre is that Moyes has been pretty dreadful in his last 4 jobs but clubs still want to appoint him. It’s truly bizarre.

Arteta seems to be rated by a few in the game . Might turn out to be more a pep than a moyes?

I think it could be a master stroke if they are patient. I have always liked Arteta and even as a player like Carrick had the air of a player/ coach.
Get some older heads in his back room staff.
They have been out of Champions League past couple of years so the only way will be up or stay static. players there with some additions would work in his supposed style.
Not saying they will win anything next year but if they commit and stand by there convictions and be patient I think it could be a master stroke.

Time will tell. I hope he does well. He knows the league he knows the club and is a top coach by all accounts. Less of a risk imo than jardime or touchel for example imo.
Hope city miss his input too.

Ken, less of a risk than actual managers?

Yeah angel. He knows the club inside out. Big tick for any manager. He knows the league inside out big tick. He knows a lot of the players. He has worked under pep and Wenger. All those for me outweigh managers who don't know the league club culture etc etc.
Im not saying there is no risk of course there is a huge risk but pep was a risk at Barcelona simione at AM . We say it annoy players if he is good enough throw him in. Obviously the people connected with arsenal think he is good enough. I say good luck to him. Tough job but if they show patience then it could well pay dividends.

Veey true ed and is a massive mistake by them.

{Ed025's Note - we dont know yet if its a big mistake singh only time will tell us that, but what it is is a huge gamble mate..
