Just quick post in appreciation of Michael Carrick, who plays his last game for United on Sunday.
I've loved watching him play throughout his career.
Calm and fluid on and off the ball and an intelligent footballer.
I'm glad he's staying on at United in some capacity. He's an important link to our last European success and Ferguson's last great team.
I know he's had some bad days at the office, who doesn't, but he obviously loves the club and a great example for young players coming through the ranks.

Carrick has been great for us in the post Scholes/ Keane era. Very underrated but read the game so well defensively and gave us rhythm going forward. We have missed his poise in recent years.
I wonder whether his type of player is one of the pieces we are missing. Link the back 4 to the midfield in a Pirlo way (not a direct comparison)
Whether that could be with a Kroos or a Veratti type I just think we have a solid HM in Matic but need the rhythm player.
Not seen anything of players linked like Savic or Fred to know if they are the type.

Carrick made countless stops in the penalty box by making great recovery runs to cut out crosses and cutbacks, something he never got enough credit for.
