Last week we beat the best side in the country away from home, this week we lost to the worst side in the League at OT. The issue, as always, is why we seem incapable of playing fast attacking football for more than 30 minutes every couple of months.
Pogba turned in a MOTM performance last week, this week he was dreadful. Lethargic, lazy, casual, never in the game. How is it possible that he can be so different one week later?
This season we be lost at Newcastle and Huddersfield, drew at home to Burnley and Southampton and let’s not forget getting knocked out of the League Cup by Bristol City. We seem to be able to raise purse
View for the big games but not the bread and butter games.
Jose seemed to know today would be an issue, before the game he was urging the players to forget last week which was a worrying sign. But surely as Manager he needed to deal with it and get their heads right. I’ve watched some dull games but I struggle to think of many as dull as today’s.
Congratulations to Pep, he bought well, improved what he had, and played some amazing football. None of which Jose did. We are so far behind City it is embarrassing. Despite the league table I think Liverpool have momentum and if they don’t pip us to second I expect them to continue to progress next year; with the right signings they will be a threat.
As for our team, we have some good players who for whatever reason can’t seem to play well very often so (are you listening Kenneth), it might be time for a clear out. I’m not a huge fan of Matic, Pogba flatters to deceive, Lukaku is not at the level we need, full backs are ageing wingers, I could go on. After the high of last week I am just so disappointed at what we saw today.

As with your competition at the begging of the season, I put Liverpool to finish 2nd, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it happen. They’re currently a better side than us, no doubt about it, and with Keita coming in they will challenge for the title next year.

We have some very good players at the club. We have some very average players at the club. I think we agree on that AJH
Their is no leadership on the pitch.
I was expecting to see a very different team today with maybe matic lukaku and young on the bench with a view to next week and getting some game time into martial shaw rash or mctom.

City have been magnificent all season and guardiola has worked wonders so hats off and well done city.
As far as we go it seems whenever there is a bit of good feeling and positivity about the club something like this happens and it's worrying I must say .
Today was completely unacceptable we were completely dreadful and I just can't understand it surely after last week we should have been full of it, eager to ruin their party for another week and we roll over and get our bellies tickled again by quite possibly the worst team to stink the league up.
I thought last week was a turning point for pogba I naively thought that we were going to start seeing the player we thought we bought, but no we got the non existent show pony yet again.
Matic looks to be a 100 years old and knackered, our full backs I don't even know where to start so I won't.
The manager has a whole lot to answer for but some of these players are stealing a living at our club.

Good post AJH.
Just heard Jose post match interview and also pundits which makes sense about Jose not sure what will turn out from who. I agree we need some real clearing as players egos are in play and threaten the club’s progress and success. Consistency is obviously lacking.
It cannot be we played well last week and so dross today. If we need to then we need to really clear. We can provide the environment for the players but if they just roller coaster then I agree with you we clear.
That said kudos to Pep for getting Citeh to win. Well done.
