Just heard the final part of the press conference. Effectively, Jose is saying that the only 2 players he is happy with are Matic and Lukaku, and that many of the Seville team would get in our side. That’s pretty damning. It’s up to him to get the best out of Lingard, Rashford, Sanchez, Mata, Pogba, Martial. If his usual approach isn’t that working then maybe a public shaming will. I’m not convinced. There are so many of them not playing to their potential that either they are not the players we thought they were, or something is amiss.
Given this outburst, should we expect a major overhaul again? It feels like a merry go round. LVG mainly bought players who were not good enough, most have gone and the others don’t really feature. Whilst I don’t like or want Mourinho we can’t keep buying and selling players in the hope we stu, bale on a winning formula. SAF took a few years to establish a team he is was happy with so maybe we are right back there.
Whilst all that sounds calm and reasoned, I still think he is the wrong man to be trusted with our tradition.

Apparently Woodward is on side so he feels confident spouting. A question for him is ‘which player have you improved this year Jose? ’, He’s publicly saying most of his players aren’t good enough, I wonder what he has been saying to his players in private. I just don’t agree that all our players are not good enough. Some perhaps but not most of them. He is not exactly inspitring them to stretch to their potential is he.

Fair enough Ted Man, arguable Jesse too. It what about Martial and Pogba. Huge money buys who just don’t seem to fit in.

Martial looks flakey mentally to me, almost phlegmatic. He has immense talent but doesn’t impose himself on the opposition, almost like he is doing it his way and if it doesn’t work oh well it will happen next week. In a similar way to Pogba he may not be enjoying the extreme pressure of focus on everything he does. If I compare his attitude to Ronaldo, it just is different, Ronaldo had the will and determination to succeed and I haven’t seen it yet in Martial. Ronaldo overcame, made himself relevant in games, Martial seems to shrink back when it doesn’t happen and that puts him on the bench.
Pogba is interesting, I think he is struggling with the concept of being the main man to be honest. At Juve he was free to indulge his skills without much responsibility but now there is heavy expectation mentally so I think Jose may be shielding him a little. I think a third quality midfield player will release him to use skills which can be devastating.

Some fan u are jred slagging the manager off. Nearly as bad as those that slag some players off. Shocking way to support the club. You will need to write a new chapter in your book of double standards and fence sitting.
