An interesting stat that I heard on Saturday, United have only been beaten by City (twice) at Old Trafford in all competitions for over 2 years. January 2016 was the last defeat to anybody else.

That is some home record and something we should be proud of and the reason why I wasn't overreacting and panicking when people were saying 'what if we lose to Chelsea, Sevilla and Liverpool? ' before Sunday's game.

I'm sure we will lose that record at some point but it just makes you think, maybe reports of our 'demise' are a little premature.

Agree9 Disagree1

yeah, that's all well and good GDS but we're still boring and crap to watch so everything you're saying counts for nothing.

Our 'demise' is massive because now there is so little joy or entertainment from watching Utd play it's almost pointless.

It only counts for trophies Manc man and we won a couple last year.

28 Feb 2018 20:26:41
I think we are on an upward curve the opposite to demise.
Yes i agree its not been pretty in fact painful to watch at times but results have improved and our competitvness has improved.
There will be further imorovements next year and better football when he has the blend and nix right.

£150m+ to spend again no doubt, I'm sure the brick wall will be tougher to break down! I'm also sure the baby steps will continue given the resources he has, as our rivals make strides with similar or less!

This 2nd season was meant to be the one we would see better football remember, apparently this is the optimum season for Jose showing what he can do according to dozens of posts excusing the poor football last season.

I am of the same opinion as Ken, we are on an upward curve at last. There may be blips but I believe we are starting to show signs there is something big to come.

I believe Mourinho has approached this role differently to his others and taking a longer term view, he is trying to build something and I think we may see that after the summer window.

Those like Beast who bemoan pretty football don’t get that you build from being difficult to beat, we played lovely football under Atkinson and it got us nothing but frustration. I am trusting Jose and will see what next season brings, we still have plenty to play for this season mind you.

Wow manc man. If that was not a sarcastic post then I think we have a poster to rival Beast for the title of "Smiler of the week" 😂.

If it's still rubbish next season, will we wait and see for season 4? When is the line drawn exactly Red Man?

We should all be watching football to enjoy it and feel passionate at the very least. The club lacks a soul at the minute, even if we had a team of pub players they would at least look like they are trying their best and doing their all for the fans. There is such little regard for the entertainment factor, it's all take, take take from the club, manager and players. We approach each big game like a selfish kid holding the cookie jar, nobody may enter, you are not seeing what is inside!

Maybe some of you still enjoy it (I think you are glutton's for punishment), but seriously ask yourself when your backside last left the seat for more than half a second and you genuinely felt some pride watching us. I'm not talking brief moments, I'm talking sustained excitement, like we had for much of the previous 25 years leading up to this chronic waste of talent and opportunity.

Beast

I think you have rose tinted glasses on what we have been served up since SAF arrived. His first few years were awful, we weren’t great around 2004 and his last couple of seasons had poor football on display. Moyes and Lvg hardly served up a football feast.

I see something developing and believe it needs more time. If we add a CD and CM in summer I expect a challenge next season. If we are not then next March Jose may be under more pressure. Right now it’s deluded to put all your money on pretty football, it’s winning that matters.

01 Mar 2018 04:48:54
I hope you are right Red Man.

I'm not expecting swashbuckling football, I appreciate there is work to do. However I do expect some good football, or signs that it may come. Moyes and LVG were disasters. SAF had poor seasons for sure, but I still liked the players, was excited before each game and expected us to compete trying to play attacking football.

I expect negative football now, despite spending millions on attacking talent we look devoid of any idea how to break down teams. We have lost our identity and I can't see it coming back under Jose, there would be more signs than what we are seeing now.

I'd be more than patient if I saw signs of future entertainment, but he has world class entertaining players now, more signings is not going to change it. It has to come from the manager and the tactics, doubt Jose will change.

I think at the moment Jose is playing the way he can with what he has available. We have good attacking talent but don’t have the spine or base to let them too loose. Fix what needs fixing and I think we will see a different team next season. The board will have a direction and Jose will likely have input and knowledge of that. Good football comes from a solid base, Jose will know that and I think he needs time. Another change will destabilise the club.

Jose is about on par with what he done with Chelsea.
City have raised the bar and will win the league with more points than Jose has ever got over a season .

Jose is doing fine so is the team it's a Jose team doing what Jose does .
