Interesting to see that martial and Lukaku have equalled our record for the most prolific combination in a single season with 6. Quite a shocking fact considering we have had several strong duos such as Ronaldo and Rooney and Cantona and Giggs. Martial and pogba have also combined for 5 goals. It’s clear to see lukaku’s effect on his team mates around him. Last year Zlatan was far too static and everything was played through him. With Lukaku willing to run behind and take a few defenders out the game, it has allowed other players such as martial, Lingard and to an extent pogba to flourish. We all want rom to have scored more goals but I think he has done well and he has the most amount of assists out of any of the strikers. Not bad for a ‘flat track bully’.

Rom has done well in a team that really hasn't been playing to his strengths. For me he has answered the debate between him and Morata, I'm happy we went for him, I just wish Jose would sub him off and play Rashford up there for the last 20 mins of games, that way rash gets some minutes in his preferred position end Rom stays fresher.
Rash has a lot to learn about hold up play and playing against tough CBs, he won't learn it from the bench.

I agre dodgy. If we played to lukaku’s strengths and created as many chances as spurs do for Kane I would expect Lukaku to be on around 20 goals and challenging for the golden boot. Still lots to improve on but only 24 and will only get better.

Kane makes a lot of his chances himself as well, but he certainly has had better service than Rom.

I said Lukaku wouldn't do well at utd and I'm pleased to see that so far it looks like I was wrong.
I was concerned about his work rate and his toughness but I've actually been really pleased with both. I especially like his work rate off the ball and he doesn't seem to mind putting it about a bit either.
He's won me over and I hope he continues to improve so as to make things happen at the very highest level.

Good Post Park I didn't realise that mate!
We could use some good understanding's and partnership's from an attacking point of view. Sometimes I think we just rely on individual brilliance to score goals and win us games rather than any real patterns of play or relationships.
I'd like us to stick with the 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2 until the end of the season. If Martial and Lukaku and Martial and Pogba can continue to combine and we can get Sanchez in on the act I can see no reason why we can't finish the season strongly.

I mentioned on here yesterday that they have struck up a great understanding and had assisted each other 3 times each so far this season. Didn't realise it tied them for the record.
Come to think of it I wonder if some jurno has read that and made an article out of it. Lol.

Rom is working hard on his gane both on the pitch and obviously in training on his perturbed weaknesses. If all the other players did the same we might be in better shape.
He has great attributes and is learning how to use some of the differently than he has before. I admire him for that. Good attitude and as jeed said you can see him improving weekly.
He seems to be a little more humble than say pogba or martial and realises that he may need to change parts of his game and work on aspects that are for the good of the team.

I agree ken. I will admit I wanted morata instead of Lukaku but how wrong I have been proven. Still think morata is sulking and would have preferred a move to us. Something that stands out about rom is his desire to learn and improve to be the best. I’ve heard he is consistently watching videos of his performances and has a burning desire to do the graft to be the best. He is also by all accounts a very intelligent guy who can speak 6 languages I think. I agree he doesn’t get the credit he deserves as he mentioned the other day.
Agreed ken he is much more humble than martial and pogba and I feel that’s because he has had to graft a bit more to get to where he is now. He took the step down to play at Everton and West Brom after failing at Chelsea and that takes a lot of character. Most talented youngsters go by the way side after their big move doesn’t quite work out. He put his head down and moved to a smaller team and deserves his chance at united. Whereas pogba and martial seem to have had it a little easier by getting their big moves to us and haven’t had to struggle as much. They say the ones that get it given on a plate don’t have the desire as those who have had to bust a gut for it. Long may rom continue to develop as he has a lot of talent.

Park i too would have chosen moratta. But was not disappointed to get lukaku.
