Definite downed tools from a few players visible. Absolutely embarassing.

Agree7 Disagree0

Has Jose got the backing of the players, I said last week first signs of melt down are there.

30 Dec 2017 19:40:25
Always the players fault, we have got overrun in mf time and again but mourinho insists on playing only 2 man mf. Every game we have a weird phase of play where pogba sits back and matic decides he is pogba he has never really worked but we keep doing it, must be the players fault. Wonder what the manager does with all these players not performing, I always thought it was the manger's job to sort such stuff.

No work rate, no intensity, no desire, no energy, no pressure, no pressing, no fight, no chance!

We just sat back behind the ball and did absolutely nothing.

As a big Jose fan the complete lack of any kind of energy or urgency is becoming very worrying. That didn't look like a team fighting for their manager tonight!

Atrocious performance I haven’t seen a side as disjointed in the league as us today. If things don’t pick up then unfortunately this will be a very long and painful season.

30 Dec 2017 19:59:21
Been like that for a few week
What does our cm do? Teams just walk through us .
I though matic was a defensive player? Looks great on the ball but is a yard off the pace with out .

Pogba done ok today with the ball but doesn't look interested with out it .

Team look very flat at the moment, out if ideas .

He constantly berates them. Why would they care playing for him?

30 Dec 2017 20:20:55
Good points. I don't think our fitness levels are anywhere near the top sides. We look knackered. Matic looked like he's treading water. Pogba looks disinterested and when we lose the ball, he's nowhere to be found. Rashford should be busting his guts to get to some good crosses, but he was not up to it.
Honestly, I can see mourinho not making it to the end of season.
The team look unfit. Whoever comes in has to get these overpaid plonkers to get fitter and change their attitude.

30 Dec 2017 20:22:07
Players have been flat for years. Back Jose and let him get in the players he wants.

This is a few years now with the bulk of the same players and similar performances. Just not good enough.

30 Dec 2017 22:14:26
Bang on angel. The squad is full of average joes.

30 Dec 2017 21:37:07
Lindelof - fail
Miki - fail
Bailly - where is he again?
Zlatan - finished never should have renewed deal
Pogba - where is he, oh yeah on the TV doing adverts
Lukaku - Where's Rooney?

I don't think this manager is to be trusted. Remember a lot of people saying the same about LVG that it takes time etc, but it got us nowhere but a deeper list of unsuitable players for an unsuitable style of football. We are seeing the same thing again, it so obvious it's beyond belief.

He is finished, his decision making is questionable, tactics predictable and the most boring football in the world to watch. I am genuinely struggling for positives. Maybe a misleading league table, but aside from that 18 months is long enough to leave a mark, shame it's a skid mark on the fabric of our club that he is leaving!

The players look unfit and disinterested, most playing nowhere near their peak. If I didn't support Man Utd I'd be laughing my head off at how pathetic we are and how quick we look for excuses. It all starts and stops with the manager, we just picked wrong again. It happens, move on and make a better decision next time.

Pick a manager that believes in attacking teams in numbers and focusing on skill/ speed/ energy - that is all I ask.

Blatant opportunism. This is not Moyes this is a manager who has a record of success yet Beast is looking for change.

I am supporting our manager. Another change now brings chaos and plays into the hands of our opponents, why does a Utd supporter want that?

31 Dec 2017 00:31:01
At least beast waited and never wanted a manager sacked before a ball had been kicked.

31 Dec 2017 01:29:39

I was very right about Moyes as was proved very very quickly

I am not a spoilt brat stamping my feet about every manager unlike some.

31 Dec 2017 07:54:07
Who would you have replace Mourinho at the moment, there is no obvious replacement. If we pick an up and coming manager who says they would be able to cope with the pressure of managing at United, I think we are pretty close to being an unmanageable team at the moment and will end up with managers who only last 2-3 years for the foreseeable future.

31 Dec 2017 08:23:01
Red Man - if my memory serves me right Beast was also right about Moyes and LVG, he could well be right about José as well, just because some don't like it doesn't automatically make him wrong.
I'm not convinced losing José will cause the chaos some predict, he is a manager living in a hotel in a city he obviously dislikes and Ed 02 has said before that he is not 100% happy, so how long do you actually think he will stay as our manager, another season? If that's correct the chaos some predict will happen then anyway if those people are correct.
How many believe that Jose's heart is really in the job for the long term and will be manager here in 2 seasons time, I would suggest not many.

31 Dec 2017 10:03:58

My position on Moyes was clear on here before he was appointed, I am sure Beast will correct me but I don’t remember him being on here at that time. I took fearsome stick for my position on Moyes on here and do not remember much if any support on it for a long time.

I think Jose’s tenure will depend upon how the club approach this winters and summers transfer window. If Jose feels they are not supporting him it could all kick off very quickly. I believe the fall out could cause chaos, three managers in 5 years, all going in different directions. The image that one of the worlds best managers can’t make it work and part of the issue is less than full support in the transfer market, may well be unattractive to some serious candidates. It seems some people just think fire the manager, appoint new manager and suddenly all will be fine, wonderful flowing winning football will ensue. No one accepts a few bad games, a new manager will quite likely look and think the club has given its managers 2 years maximum, they don’t accept a small bad run and the club don’t appear to have a plan, do I risk it?

My bigger concern is the future of the club, the manager is one key role but the bigger question is what is going on in the boardroom? The owners and Woodward have brought us to this point, whether you like Mourinho or not, they relied upon SAF and now that crutch has gone it appears focus is (rightly) falling on them. Money making machine maybe, but from the outside it doesn’t look as well organised as City. Questions remain about investment in players and infrastructure no matter what the Glazer apologists make out.

31 Dec 2017 12:11:32
Red Man - I can't believe anybody thought that José was a long term manager. He lives in a hotel and Ed 02 has said on more than one occasion that he isn't happy.
Jose's history is of conflict with the management of clubs even when he has been so successful so what would make us different.
I agree that the club needs to look at its set up, I would remove Woodward from all football related decisions and appoint a football director. As long as the club is making money the Glazier's will continue as they have, sadly to them Manchester United is a business enterprise and their interest as a football club is extremely limited. Look how they treat us as season tkt holders, the cup scheme, resale of tkts when we can't go etc etc.
I think José is being clever as he is using the lack of investment to pathe his way to make an exit from a club he is not happy at. The rise of City under Pep is something that he will be finding extremely difficult to deal with, look at their history in Spain. For years José was the special one and suddenly Pep became along with Barcelona sweeping all aside and Jose's ego has taken a battering.
I think our problems are related to all aspects of the club and that very much includes the manager. I don't actually think we are that far apart in our views.
