Not been on much of late but thought I'd send a quick post, as I am intrigued on peoples current position on Jose as manager.

I didn't want him at United before he was offered the job, due to the football he plays and the person he is. That said I have supported him since he joined, and will do so for the foreseeable future. How long will that future be? Who knows.

I just wonder how long people see Jose being United manager. I wouldn't be surprised if he was here next season but I wouldn't be in the slightest surprised if he wasn't either. His recent comments, plus the dross we have witnessed in the past 3 games are doing him no favours at all, especially with United fans.

We've been bored enough watching United the past few seasons and other than a few good results early on this season, albeit against what people would say are lesser teams, recently we are back to those performances again. It can be painful watching us at times.

Not wanting any ranting posts either for or against Jose, just how long you think he'll be here. I'm going to stick my neck out and say he won't be here next season. Not just because I think United will get rid, but I don't think he particularly wants to be here either.

Agree2 Disagree0

Brendan, I am also on your page re the appointment. His history suggests he won't be here after next year and the fact he continues to live in a hotel suggests he has not committed. I'm not asking him to move his family but surely you would rent a house or an apartment and try and have a home from home.

I'd be surprised he is stays longer than next year, things tend to blow up and I expect we will see some dramas this year.

United Fans are quickly turning into the Liverpool ones.

We keep talking about the United Way and then want to keep sacking managers season after season. Is that the United way? 3rd manager sunce Fergie left and already people are asking about his future. How about some stability at the club? don't forget that Jose has delivered. Europa League, Carling cup and Champions league qualification. 2nd in the league currently. What more do people want. I think everybody just wants his manager to lead us and won't be happy unless he is here. We have lost one game. I really don't see what Jose has done wrong. And if he goes, who would be able to lead the great Manchester United. More than a manager, we need a character who has the guts to be the Manchester United manager.

Shan do characters with guts go 11 behind the ball refusing to attack against a team who has conceded 9 goals in 2 games against fellow top 4 rivals.

23 Oct 2017 14:50:31
Pochettino?

23 Oct 2017 14:58:30
I think he'll see out the three years and go at the end of next season if we win the league, and that's a big if!

23 Oct 2017 15:49:44
Shan there's no need to attack attack attack!

23 Oct 2017 16:08:00
They do. And you just have to look at his trophy cabinet to see what that character has achieved by that. Remember what happened to Arsenal when they tried to play against Liverpool. City only got into the game once Mane was sent off. Klopp had the best record against the top 6 for a reason. The expansive play suits Liverpool style. You can question all you want, the number of goals scored do not matter at the end of the season, the points matter. I won't like to be a Spurs fan or Arsenal fan. They play the best football but what do they have to show for it come May. Nothing.
We can play the stylish football once we have our mojo back. Till then i am willing to sacrifice the secy football and will be happy with points on the table.

Jose is very good at getting what he wants. He wanted Perisic badly, but Ed Woodward didn't make it happen. Could have gotten him for £25mish in June 2017. I think a lot of the sulking of late is because he knows we are a couple signings away from where we need to be and January is approaching. Hopefully he gets his way.

23 Oct 2017 16:39:13
Hopefully he wins a league this year or next and gracefully exits (wishful thinking i know) and heads off to PSG to help them win the the champions league.

I agree with schmidfield/ AAA that pochettino would be the ideal replacement but he seems quite invested in spurs and their squad and wonder if he would leave with them moving into a new stadium.

Shan I wasn’t asking for him to be sacked, I said he has my support whether I like him or not. I was just interested to see how long people thing he will be here, whether his decision or not. We won’t win the league this year, but given the decent start we had, I thought we may kick on, but I just don’t see it. City are on fire, Spurs are getting going too. I think it will be one of those two. Should have stuck with my original predictions and not changed at the last minute 😀.

We’ll make top four as we will pick up plenty against the ‘lesser’ teams, but won’t get enough against the top six sides to go for the league, I don’t think. We are a few players short, and are being held back a bit by slightly negative tactics unfortunately.

In the future I’d like a manager who has the balls to just let players go out and play football and have a go most games. I’d rather go down fighting personally. I think even Mr Mourinho is struggling with the pressure of being at United, which I didn’t think would happen seeing as he has been to a few big clubs already. The shadow of SAF is still hanging around the place it seems.

It's funny how Everytime any one criticises Jose the defence is he wins trophies, I don't disagree with that but the way he wins them is not pretty and after spending all that money he needs to do much better, lvg had a similar resume and won a trophy too iirc, don't remember posters being happy about it then.

23 Oct 2017 20:06:08
Its not funny at all Moyes. The so called entertaining managers would kill for a resume like that. So you see its not funny at all. Jose has his tactics just like any manager. He is a serial winner. Klopp has his own strategies and the pools are calling for his head. More than half on here wanted him as our manager. What has he done? ZERO. What part of last season under Conte was entertaining? Is he a champion? Yes he is. So you see, its not funny at all. People are just spoiled because they saw football under SAF. Now he was a phenom and that is it. There won't be another. Football has evolved. The balance sheet of Manchester United would only show a positive reflection if we lift a trophy, it won't matter how many goals were scored.

Now i am all for entertainment in a football game. But at what cost? I was bored in the Liverpool game and i was disheartened by the Huddersfield performance. But i call out the players. They are getting paid to give us 90 min of commitment a week. I am pretty sure all of us were celebrating the Europa League trophy besides the MAZE and may be the Beast. Was it entertaining, No.

Its a result oriented industry and entertainment is a by product of it. Its a sorry world but that is what it has become. I like it or not, it does not matter to the CFO of the club. Why do you think the Qataris are investing heavily in football? They have tons of wives and camels for entertainment. They are here for profits and how do you earn them, by winning.

Remember, no one ever remembers the man who came second no matter how fun he was.

So you see Moyes, its not funny at all.

Well Shan if this is the way united and football are going to be forever, I’m taking up crown green bowling. Much more excitement in that.

Oh and tell City and Pep that.

24 Oct 2017 04:09:12
Brendan, just think if you would have taken up bowling when SAF was appointed and during his initial few years, you wouldn't have seen the fun and charisma that followed for the next 20 years. Patience my good friend. They say its a virtue.

24 Oct 2017 08:12:15
Shan if you look at the highest spending managers, you will find most boast a trophy count similar or better than mourinho's, ancelotti, pep and even pellegrini all have spent some big money and all have proven you can win trophies with that money spent and play good football while doing it. I am not saying mourinho is a bad manager or anything such, but to suggest that fergie was an exception when it came to consistently winning titles while playing good football is bs, all those above did that, but mourinho can't seem to manage it. If anything mourinho's the one who should be jealous of those not the other way around.

24 Oct 2017 13:11:42
Shan, Jose won’t be here for the long haul even if the club wanted him to be, so results need to be now or never with him I think. If he was a manager who would probably still want to be here in 10 years then a few seasons of getting things right wouldn’t be so bad. He won’t be here anywhere near that long though so he needs to be targeting the league this season. I just don’t see it happening. I hope I’m wrong more than anyone, but I don’t see it right now.

Anyway let’s stuff Swansea and then Spurs and put three poor performances behind us.
