Suddenly media focusing so much on us! 😂😂. Also read that RM and City challenging us for Griezmann. Read that we have pulled back from the €100m for Bale's deal. I think that is very logical and smart. Why would we want an older and more injury prone player for the same price. I would take Griezmann anytime over Bale. No brainer.
As it is going to cost that much I feel it is up to Griezmann to choose. If he wants to join us bcos of a brighter future and silverwares then great. If he think the other clubs are better by all means please go ahead. I am sure we can get somebody good for cheaper to suit our setup. More importantly I think Jose knows his stuff and will not be held ransom. Dybala will come for same or cheaper I am sure. Any inputs Eds or anyone?
{Ed001's Note - Dybala would not be cheaper and both of the big 2 in Spain want him. Griezmann was awful last night, absolutely terrible. If he carries on like that, he will be much cheaper than he was!}

Nice. If Griezmann come cheaper then something must be wrong and I don't think we should get him! BUT Jose is good at getting the best out of players and who knows?

If greizeman just plays as a ten now do we want to spend 80 million + to replace Miki or move him right where he isn't as effective. Makes more sense to buy a player who actually plays right side attacker unless greizeman is happy and able to understand that's where he would slot in .
I'm pretty happy we kept smalling and young, they are pretty handy fill ins now, don't seem to create problems at being squad players and provide decent squad options . I know people had issues if they were regulars but they aren't young is just a bk up for quite a few positions and smalling 4th or 5th choice CB . Not many teams will have a 4th or 5th choice CB hovering around the England squad . Selling either wouldn't massively boost our finances .

Given we are challenging hopefully all the cups and titles, we will need a reasonable size team and I tend to agree with Slate that it'll be better strengthening the wings and value add the attack. In addition, I also feel we need to have backups for the defense in case we might be hit with injuries.
Would be great to have a couple of potentially strong defenders in January. It'll be a long season and hopefully we are rid of injuries and fatigue. I fear for Jones and Bailly but hope they will be fine.

So far under Jose who ever has played on the right hasn't really had the role of a winger .
Mata Miki even rash when played out there came in and interchanged with the 10 .
Mata and Miki have that in there game rash not so much which is possible why he has played more on the left with martial offering something different .
Because of this I think ozil makes a lot of sense for the rightside/ 10, I wouldn't be surprised if we made a move for him .

Miki is 30 next year he needs to be challenged. Stand still and your dead. Even if we win 4 trophys we still need to strengthen next year.
Priority though has to be both full back areas imo. Young 32? Toni 32 next year snd we don't have a top class left back. All other positions in 1st 11 the players are top class why ignore the lb slot.

Id be delighted if we did jred and don t be surprised to see either 1 one of blind or smalling going the other way in jan. Both will need more 1st team footie to secure wc spots and arsenal are woefully short at the back.

I agree Ken we shouldn't stand still, but every team always has a weakest area and the not standing still should to me mean improve where your weakest, I don't think Miki is anywhere near our weakest area in need of improvement. You rightly point out left back looks the most obvious area we could improve and I personally think an attacking right side of attack player of top quality could force his way into the team so to me if greizeman wants a central role and not on the right then we are no longer addressing our weaker areas . You and jred do make good points though jm does seem to like a player who looks a more natural 10 playing on the right. Spending 80+ million to replace Miki or move him positions seems unnecessary to me but then again I don't know greizeman he may have no problem moving more to the right but buying someone who already does makes more sense to me.
