So guys what would every one do on Sunday midfield wise, options are fellani for pogba straight swap, but does that leave us too slow in midfield so do we play herrara as well as fellani and matic but we would have to leave out mata or miki or my final option play herrara with matic and leave fellani on the bench?

Herrera and Matic will probably be the two mourinho goes with, but i think everton may go ultra defensive as they must be low on confidence after recent results. So no need for a midfield three in this game in my opinion.

Personally I would go 4231 and go with Matic and Herrera in midfield for two reasons. One Herrera is more mobile and more comfortable in possession which I think will be important against a very mobile and defensive Everton midfield of Schniederlin and Gueye. Secondly I think Fellaini works better as an impact substitute more so than Herrera. If you bring Herrera on for the last twenty minutes he won't offer you a different option, but Fellaini does. The only reason to have options on the bench is for them to be able to change the team dynamic. Fellaini does that better than Herrera imo.
Then stick with Mata, Mkhitaryan and Rashford behind Lukaku. Probably with Valencia, Bailly, Jones and maybe give Shaw a run out if he is fit enough.

I posed the same question yesterday Phil. i'm not a big fellaini fan but i reognise he is playing well and his form maybe warrents the starting berth. That said herrera is a better forward passer than fellaini and in that respect he is a more like for like swap for pogba.
I would not like us to change the shape that's worked best for us so far. Particularly at home against a vulnerable everton.
So in short😂 personally i would play herrera for pogba and keep the same front 4 of miki mata rash and lukaku.
But i would not be surprised or annoyed if fellaini starts in place of herrera he has earned a start. With only 2 places In midfield at the moment herrera has gone from player of the year to 4th choice.

Hit reply too soon. Was going to say that even though I would go for a Matic/ Herrera midfield I expect Mourinho to go with Matic/ Fellaini. Which considered Fellaini's form it is hard to argue with, I just feel Fellaini can have more impact from the bench than Herrera. Let's wait and see.

I think we we might see Carrick and Matic a bit more in the Pogba role (which he can do) and possibly switch Mata for Lingard or Martial due to more disciplined midfield.

I'd be amazed if Fellaini doesn't start, not just his form. Everton are a physical team and Fellaini will suit, not to mention the X factor of playing against your former club. They may be a danger from set-pieces as well so he is better equipped than Herrera to deal with that.

I'd be inclined to play Carrick and Herrera. I think Carrick could control the game and Herrera could do his running and provide some bite. No harm in giving Matic a rest.
I'd play Mikki at 10 with instructions to look up and bloody well pass the ball instead of beating 4 players then trying to beat them again then losing the ball. Mikki does provide good energy in the middle though. Rashford and Martial out wide for me.
In terms of tactics, I'd play a high tempo pressing game from the off; give them no time to settle. With Carrick able to drop back into defence we could push Valencia and Blind high up the pitch.
