Just to mix things up a little I thought I'd ask what people think of the young lads who have been given a chance in pre season?

Who out of Andreas Pereira, Scott McTominay, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Axel Tuanzebe and Dimitri Mitchell will have the biggest impact this season?

Agree2 Disagree0

Andreas Pereira for me but that is partly due to him getting more game time than the others IMO.

You would have to say Pereira has the biggest chance of making an impact. Jose seems to like and trust him. The others will get game time here and there but I feel Pereira has made massive strides in the last 3 seasons. Maybe a loan for TFM etc wouldn't be the worst thing.

I think perreira might be the one. But I want Tunazebe to get a chance as he looks ready.

Like everyone else has said pereira due to probably getting more minutes but McTominay has impressed me the most during pre season.

03 Aug 2017 13:35:55
Tuanzebe. Has a role to play at CB in a 3 man defence, at RB and possibly in midfield.

03 Aug 2017 14:10:47
Periera and tuanzabe look like the most likely candidates to me. I think tuanzebe is going to be a first team starter and regular within 18 months.

Think they've all done well. Peirera looked good in Spain last season and I think he should be given a shot. I really like Tuanzebe too, if we play a back 3 he should be in with Bailly and Lindelof.

Pereira and Tuanzebe I agree look the most likely to make an impact as they seem to have Jose's trust more than the others. McTominay has impressed me most on tour though. I think him and TFM need a loan this season. After that they could come back and really challenge next season.

I was surprised how that TFM seemed to get more game time on tour than Tuanzebe, last season it appeared Mourinho had more trust in Tuanzebe. Maybe he was putting him in the shop window to flush out a loan for him. I remember he did something similar last pre season with Andreas Pereira. Pereira played in every game in last season's pre season then went out on loan after the first game of the season.

I think Tuanzebe looks more ready and due to him being a defender I think he will get more playing time and will impress. However, I would love to see pereira get more exposure. I really feel that he is a fantastic talent.

Angel, Pereira is a good player but again, he is good at a lot of positions without being stand out at any. I watched him closely on tour and I have to say that I wasnt completely blown away. He was neat in possession, made simple passes, but didn't do anything amazing to make one stand up and say he's the man for the job.
Where is his best position? i'm unsure of that.
Tuanzebe on the other hand is a CB first and foremost and will hold down a place if given the chance, he seems to have a very wise head on young shoulders. If John Stones is being given a chance at City, then why can't we give Tuanzebe his chance. He is better than smalling and blind.
Dimitri Mitchell looked extremely good last season when given his chance and I would love to see him playing at LB for us. He's quick and a clean tackler, good crosser and seems to have a good attitude.

what has happened to Ro Shaun Williams.?

03 Aug 2017 17:52:06
Hr played last game if season whi h was effectively an exhibition match. He made 3 crosses one of which was blocked and made 2 tackles so you did well to come to those conclusions schmid😂😂😂.
He has been a lw all through the acadamy and has played a total of 23 games as a lb since he was born.
Not quite ready yet for the epl and cl. Lots to learn lots to do and he won't play any 1st football this season imo unless shaw goes manky again and everybody else is injured.

Nmid, Mitchell did OK, but was it not his one and only game for the seniors, in a meaningless, end of season rubber? Are you seriously saying, if we want to be challenging for the league, that we should be picking an unproven youngster over Shaw, Blind, or Darmian, all experienced players, on the back of one game? I've watched him as well for the juniors, and he looked decent, but remember he's a winger originally up until his debut, so where is all this defensive nous coming from that's going to stand him in good stead against our main rivals. I'm all for giving him a chance every now and then to help his development, but a regular starter ahead of those I've mentioned? Sorry, mate. Have to disagree.

Tuanzebe is the most convincing. He plays well every time he gets a chance. Unlike most, I am not as impressed by Pereira. He looks smooth, but has not made a decisive difference in any of the games going forward, and he is not great defensively.

Stevie. I would much rather give Mitchell his chance than see Blind played out of position. Remember the class of 92 didn't have much experience but they turned out ok. But at present we have no left back, so I would rather Mitchell got the chance.

Ken, stats could be misleading. He attacked with intent and though some crosses didn't reach the target, he was very positive. With more experience, he'll do well.
