So Mourinho has said we might have to settle for just one more signing. Who out of those linked would people most want it to be? And why?

Agree0 Disagree0

Out if those linked I would prefer to see Matic come in. We need a solid presence in the middle of the park and while Herrera has played as a DM he isn't best suited to that position. Carrick isn't going to play as often and Matic is a step up on Fellaini.

Having someone like Matic will only benefit Pogba and ultimately he is the player in our squad who has the most ability so we should be looking to give him the best conditions to show it.

While we don't have an out and out winger like Perisic I'd prefer to see Martial, Rashford, Lingard etc play wide left and Matic be signed to play alongside Pogba than see Perisic wide left and Fellaini as the first choice DM in a big game.

Where has he said this?

I would much prefer Perisic, as I think he will be a big factor in whether Lukaku is successful at united.

I think we need to be getting the ball into the box more to utilise lukaku's physical presence and although he is good with his back to goal, I don't think his touch and movement is that great, so won't bring others into play that well.

Perisic will bring back the old winger mentality back to united and rather than cutting in all the time like martial, rashford or lingard, he will stay wide and look for the cross. I think he's a terrific player as well, reminds me a bit of robben.

If it's only one. I ll go for persic. As we don't have genuine quality wingers. Not even in reserves. But we have CM for stopgap role. and this will also free up Martial to be in Central Role. Who is certainly better than Rashford given run of game constantly.

We have more issues attacking than in defence, so it would have to be. Neymar, bit expensive though for 13 goals a year.

19 Jul 2017 12:18:06
For me nainggolan for his never give up attitude and he plays with a bit of controlled agression.
You won't win titles with a dressing room full of choir boys.

19 Jul 2017 12:45:31
We need a winger more than anything else. I don't even care who, just somebody who plays as a winger as a natural position. We can't go another season watching central players forced to play out wide and cutting in with the ball at the earliest opportunity.

19 Jul 2017 12:57:42
Tell that to Szczecin Boy’s Choir Slowiki, Rimini International Choral Competition winners 2016, whooo baby.

For me it would be Peresic. I think we could cover HM with Blind/ Carrick and Harera.
Going forward down the Left was just painful last year. He will add proper width to free space for Pogba to roam. He has a good delivery and assist record to suggest the strikers will like playing with him and he allows us to move from 433 to 4231 to 352 seamlessly.
Crazy to say when he originally was not high on my list.

I'd opt for Perisic, just because the left side of the team really needs addressing and there are less options in the squad for that position as well. He will get the ball in the box as well. Difficult choice if Veratti is really an option though, because he is quality. Pogba, Hererra and Veratti? That's a world class midfield.

Interesting thoughts guys. My thoughts apparently go against the norm.

I would go all out for Eric Dier, I really rate him. He does all the simple things well, has great reading and understanding of the game, is strong technically and physically. he is still young a has room to improve and grow. Also he is English, not something I normally care about too much. But we should have a strong British core and with Rooney leaving and question marks over players such as Young, Smalling and Jones, also it is likely Carrick's final year at the club bring one of the best British players to the club would be a good idea.

For the team I feel with Schniederlin and Schweinsteiger leaving and Carrick's legs getting older I worry about the strength in depth we have in midfield. Pogba, Herrera, Carrick, Fellaini and Pereira. Two good enough, one probably not, one getting a little too old and the other unproven.
A long term injury to either Pogba or Herrera could be destroy our title chances this season.

Dier I think is the perfect player to give Pogba more freedom.

I see people's thoughts on Perisic and we do lack width, but if we didn't get a wide player we could always adapt and play 352. Plus we would still have options to play Martial Mata, Mkhitaryan, Lingard, Rashford and Andreas Pereira out wide. Also with Young's injury he is unlikely to be able to leave this summer, so there is another option there once he returns from injury.

Another point of view is Perisic was out back up option to Greizmann. I would rather get our first choice in one position than our second choice in another. We could always go back for Greizmann next summer, and he is a far better player than Perisic. Although personally my favorite choice for a wide man would be Carrasco.

I don't like carrasco shappy. Very inconsistent he takes too much out of the ball and is often left out of the team for lack of work rate.
Perisic can play lwb just as well as left of a front 3. Lukaku needs service from wide perisic gives that. I see the merit in perisic. I really hope a deal can be struck.
I was thining that we kniw5 the price and that perhaps we are stalling while working on a preferred option. Perhaps that's wishful thinking on my part. Who knows what the delay is. Perhaps jose wants to take a look at martial to be sure in his mind that he can't do the job.
The key for me is how do we best make chances for lukaku and get chances off him and imo delivery groom wide areas is just what lukaku needs. perisic is a high class winger that will stretch defences and whip nalls in early which is a forwards dream. Rvn always said when becks had the ball he knew the ball was coming he just had to make the right run and lose his marker.

What I will say is that, a long time ago, we thought about four players to strengthen our squad, but it is really hard to do it, he told ESPN. If we do the third and forget the fourth, I would be quite happy with that because I know it is difficult.

At the moment we have Lukaku and Lindelof, two players I know well. I worked with one before and the other is from the Portuguese championship, which I follow every weekend.

I am happy with them and I know that they will succeed at the club.

Jose.
