Surely there is no way United will let Martial leave on loan this season. He was a superstar 18 months ago. Remember the excitement throughout his first season when he got the ball in that drab LVG side?

He is only a few years out of school and unfortunately was not helped by Jose last season with everything being facilitated through Zlatan.

We spent a large chunk of coin on him to bring him to the club in order to develop with the best coaches in football whilst engraining the clubs DNA into him like a young Ronaldo. Now the club just want to throw him aside because Jose is doing what he does best - spending vast amounts of money on inform players.

It is no wonder Mourinho's tutelage of young players is constantly questioned if this is the type of route he is planning on going down with an immensely talented young gun. Surely he has to stay and be coached correctly in order to reach the next level.

Maze, why is a player going out on loan such a bad thing in your eyes?

I wouldn't let him go on loan/ . On form he's one of our best players. He needs playing consistently to get back to his brilliant best.

Have I missed something? Are United actively trying to loan Martial out, or has someone else asked about taking him on loan?

I assume it must be the former given JMB' s statement above of "now the club just want to throw him aside . "

If that is the case, I think it's a big mistake by the club.

If not, it's just Maze being Rollo again.

Totally agree maze, martial proved himself in his first season that he can cope at this level and mourinho needs to show why he's one of the best and get that best form out of him.

Seriously? I think I'm in the minority here but if it guaranteed regular game time at a reasonably high standard then I wouldn't think twice about sending a young player out on loan. Marital had a good first season for us playing in a team that was struggling. Last year he was appalling in comparison and that is largely because of the lack of game time and his attitude. I can't think of many other United players at present I would send out on loan. The lad needs to grow up.

Betty I have no inside knowledge I am just going off what is being reported in the press and that is United and Jose may be willingly to let him go.

You can cherry pick at my statement all you like but at the end of the day mate you have just posted to troll and try to get a reaction. Sad really.

KG he was struggling last season due to being marginalised by the system and having to accommodate Zlatan. Surely the club are obligated to get the best out of him having invested a lot into him as a teenager? Your post seems to be one of 'who cares about existing players, I want heaps of new ones every season'.

I think the problems could be more deep rooted. I know Jose has a reputation for not giving youth a chance, but as a club United have been lacking when it comes to developing young talent into first team regulars in recent years. Whether that's transitioning from the youth team or purchased for a large price.

They initially start out well, but do they start to believe their own hype (which we seem to encourage), or do we not give them the right opportunities? Are our training methods and surroundings not good enough? Or does the pressure of winning mean playing young lads is too much of a risk?

It's probably a combination of all the above but until United sort it we'll keep getting Depay's, Janujaz's, Morrison's, Keane's, Cleverly's; the list is almost endless this past 10 years.

Hopefully with Martial the club have recognised he's a young lad, helped him address his problems and that gets him concentrating on football and playing well. If he's happy and on form he'll get plenty of game time as he's a good player.

I really can't see it happening, first reason is the fact we don't have many wingers or anyone to replace his admittedly weak showing last season, secondly which is opinion, he I hope has vanished his second season syndrome and can hopefully with his cherished shirt number back really kick off.
