Long time reader but 1st time post. Just a quick hello and a thanks for some interesting reads on here. I'm hoping like the rest for 1 or 2 more quality signing but I have to say I'm liking the look of the squad Jose is building in his short time here. I'm hoping for a CM in next but unlike most of the press reports I'd prefer Dembele from Spurs rather than Dier and I also like Kondogbia at Inter. Just my personal opinion rather than hanging on to the next big name we're linked with.

G'day Rom. I said exactly the same about Dembele from Spurs a while back although I don't think Dier is a bad player but he will be overpriced due to his nationality. Kondogbia I know very little of.
Jose has now splashed a whopping amount of cash since he has been here and I would like to see the rest of the gaps plugged by the youngsters as a manager has an obligation to the club to blood them - not just buy expensive players. My worry is if too many faces come in players like Rashford will be marginalised.

Dembele is so underrated.
Would love him at united.
I think regardless of how many players we sign it's up to players like Rashford to work hard and fight for a place.
Top teams need competition to keep everyone on there toes.

We missed a trick not getting Dembele when Berba went to Fulham, pretty sure the deals happened close together? Can't wait for the season to start now, I really do think we will be challenging for our title back this season. Time for people to step up now Wayne and Zlatan won't be in the dressing room. Rom couldn't have said it better myself. Hopefully players like Lukaku and Pogba can put their juvenile attitudes aside and get serious when it gets tough next season to drag United to the title.

i remember reading reports that we offered something like £5m for dembele when he was at fulham - we were never serious. would have been immense in our midfield.

Juvenile attitudes? are they not allowed to enjoy themselves at work? Imagine no one relaxed at work and had a laugh haha. What a place that would be!
You need characters in the dressing room. Sometimes, "when it gets tough" as you said, you need players who can relax the atmosphere a bit. They are both very talented players and I'm sure they will show their worth on the pitch.

I think he means funny haircuts and handshakes, there's a time and a place for all that but you'd never see Keane or Robson do it would you. I know times have changed but I do shake my head at times and think "just get back to basics and win football matches instead of practicing your next routine"! Maybe I'm just getting old!

Keane was also a player that said Characters are needed in the dressing room for team spirit. He never had that much against Ronaldo or Beckham as long as they did the business on the pitch.

Imagine players having celebration routines, we might have won the league and double in 1993 and 1994 if Giggs and Ince didn't have a celebration routine. Oh wait.
