Looking at it, what a monumental window this could be.

With Rooney almost gone, Ibra gone and no one worthy of the 7 shirt we have 7, 9 and 10 all free.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jul 2017 17:38:14
And we can fit 2 players into the vacated 10 jersey😂.

05 Jul 2017 17:41:33
Haha Ken - excellent.

How would you like those shirts filling?

05 Jul 2017 17:56:20
Careful Ken. You might upset a few on here with rooney jokes 😂.

05 Jul 2017 18:11:28
Lol same old people.

05 Jul 2017 18:24:10
Lol exactly what I was thinking when you posted jred.

05 Jul 2017 18:40:20
Fresh. It bet much depends on how we are going to set up.
My preference would be 442 diamond with the full backs providing the width. Perisic has filled that role on the left back for croatia really well along with shaw
Fabhino looks unlikely so maybe semedo and toni for right back
Miki and mata jessie for the 10. Carrick and matic for the 6. Pogba herrera perrira tfm plus new signing for the other 2 midfield positions.
Rash moratta martial plus ideally 1 of bale / neymar/ greizman/ james/ belotti for the other forward.
That squad could play 4231 433 343 443 lots of options.
If we are play with 1 up top rash moratta could share the load. But with martial / perisic left we are devoid of pace on the right.
So without knowing our preferrrd set up its hard to know who i would like to see the fill the shirts vacated.

05 Jul 2017 18:29:45
Angle I've looked down the page this is your only post . Says it all .
I guess maze hasn't posted so have to start an argument somewhere else .
Its funny and a bit sad.

05 Jul 2017 18:56:43
Check the others page inspector morse😁.

05 Jul 2017 19:01:43
Well at least when he belatedly leaves there will be no more Rooney talk. Jred may struggle but I'm sure he'll get over it. We can then all go back to remembering the Rooney we signed and not the guy who has served up the total dross that we have witnessed the past 4 ish years.

05 Jul 2017 19:06:26
Don't be daft bren you's will just move on to someone else .

05 Jul 2017 19:41:12
Which of course is our prerogative.

05 Jul 2017 19:54:05
You mustn't be reading enough jred. I've posted plenty over the last number of days. There are 3 different pages here, I suggest you go have a look before posting a daft comment.

You need to stop getting your knickers in a twist over rooney. It's no secret he loves a booze up and a take away. We were having a fun pop at it. Doesn't take away from his achievements at this club.

05 Jul 2017 20:00:15
I don't have a go at a anyone without reason Jred. Whether you wished to accept it the past however many years or not, what I was saying was correct. The club and manager panicked and were too weak and Rooney cashed in. Can't blame him I guess but he has been dogsht for years now and earning a not so small fortune. It's been a complete farce. He should have left years ago, when his reputation was intact, not now when the world knows he is finished at the top and has been for quite some time.

A sad end really, and it didn't have to be that way.

05 Jul 2017 20:11:34
See Ken. I knew you'd upset someone 😂.

05 Jul 2017 21:05:22
Angle
Lol no one is upset read them post again .
It's childish nonsense.

Brendan
Yer if he had walked out on us years ago he would still be held in high esteem by some just like Ronaldo.

But like all great players people will look back on Rooney as a great player and legend of club .

05 Jul 2017 21:11:04
Ken, I like the sound of your 443. Do you really think we could sneak another player onto the pitch? Lol.

05 Jul 2017 21:16:01
Ronney may well have been average over the last few years however the issue i would have is there have also been other players even worse than Rooney and one's who have never actually done anything of any note.

Martial springs to mind last season and a few others at different times seasons gone by.

So my point.? I'm not Rooney's biggest fan and wanted him gone 3 years ago when fergie showed him the door however there are other players who have not achieved anything like Rooney but seem to be given a free run at being rubbish but in fact are no better and worse than Rooney considering what he has done for the club.

Just saying and just my opinion for what it's worth!

For the record i used to really dislike Rooney without saying too much and getting banned!

05 Jul 2017 21:57:19
Personally I hate all the nonsense of 'Legends'. There are players, past and present, that I admire hugely because of their ability and ones I admire hugely because of there attitude as a professional footballer, whether the ability was equal or not.

Certain top quality players cloud my view because of there lack of professionalism, attitude or the type of person they are. Loved Keane as a player, but he was/ is a t*t. Giggs, great player, sh*tty person. Best, a one off but no self control. Rooney, had it all but poor professional. Ronaldo, a true great but didn't hang around.

Then you have players like Charlton, Edwards in his short career, G Neville, Hughes etc. Players I hugely admire be it for ability, attitude or both.

If I was made to name players I thought were united 'legends', the list would be very very short. Probably Charlton for his ability and the role he has had at united his whole life and Edwards for the amazing ability he had, what he could have become and the fact that that was taken away at such a young age, along with the other boys.

06 Jul 2017 00:02:50
ken loves rooney really lol.

06 Jul 2017 00:25:24
You are right. It is childish jred.

Ken made a joke, I made a joke. You took offence and made a daft comment about only 1 post i've made and something about maze and starting an argument.

Nobody was starting an argument, only joking about rooney. You did get upset, but it's okay.

I'd advise you just to relax a little bit. It's only a banter site mate.

06 Jul 2017 00:27:07
Very well put that Brendan young sir! I agree with virtually all of it but not so sure about "ticket touting Sir Bobby" and i also love Roy (tit or not) Keane!

However they have all contributed to Man United's history in a wonderful way and we should repsect what they have done for this great club, depsite there obvious flaws as we all have them!

06 Jul 2017 06:06:40
Angle
I didn't take offence, I laughed at the childish remarks and your attempts to start and argument again.

06 Jul 2017 06:08:29
Brendan
How old are you how many times did you see Edwards play?
Charlton also carried on to long for England and united.

06 Jul 2017 06:14:45
All them great players and yet none scored as many goals for united as Rooney and only 5 played more games.

And yet all some fans can do is have a go at at a united player who has won and achieved what he has at the club.
Spoilt fans?
History will remember him kindly even if some fans don't.

{Ed001's Note - I think your head is far up the fat guy's backside that you fail to see the point. Players like Charlton (who was not a striker anyway) had to carry on as long as possible, out of a need to feed their family. Rooney is in a totally different position, he was set for life the day he joined the club, yet he has always put his own financial wellbeing above all, even though it was just greed as he already had more than enough. Again, that would be fine, no one would begrudge him that money if he was putting his all into ensuring he lived the right way and put his all into everything he did for the club. Maybe even did his fair bit for charity while he was about it, instead of for himself, then he would definitely get respect instead of contempt. When you are selfish, like he is, then you are not going to be liked by the vast majority of people, even if they respect what you have achieved.

In time, most people will forget that he did very little for others, that it was all about just greed, in more than one respect, with him. People will just look at the numbers and he will be remembered as a legend, you are correct. The problem is that he does not deserve that title because of his own actions. Legendary status should go to those who do more than simply score goals. When you look at what Ronaldo has done for Madeira, in terms of giving back, that is someone who deserves to be a legend for that island. What has Rooney ever given anyone that wasn't about earning money? Even now, the only reason he is not already signed for his boyhood club is his wage demands. A guy who has all the money he could possibly need but he is still greedy for more. That is not someone who deserves to be a legend.}

06 Jul 2017 07:17:44
Okay jred, you didn't take offence then, let's leave it that.

06 Jul 2017 07:16:43
Good post ed001. Top goalscorer yes. Legend, absolutely not for me.

{Ed001's Note - thank you. It is difficult to explain to a fan of a player why it is they do not deserve total adulation.}

06 Jul 2017 08:00:25
Well put ed001 👏.

{Ed001's Note - cheers Bren.}

06 Jul 2017 10:32:59
Spot on Ed001. He has scored a lot of goals for the club, some very important goals. The club has paid him in excess of 100m over the last 13 years, and that is without any money he makes through image rights, or other investments or bonuses. Does he need added adulation, not for me he has been handsomely rewarded and then some.

{Ed001's Note - cheers Shaps, not often we agree on players!}

06 Jul 2017 10:59:33
I loved rooney strut his stuff ed001 in his pomp. But then I got to see and hear from people who know him how selfish he is. It is reflected in the way he has handled himself down through the years.

But when you try and explain that on here to some posters, they call it hating on the player etc etc. Don't get me wrong, I was in absolute admiration during his formative years but it has been many many years since we have seen that player or level of dedication. Goals yes, but overall he comes up short of the legendary status others have achieved.

I'm really glad you took the time to point these things out and hope posters take note.

{Ed001's Note - at 16 he had the world at his feet, but it went to his head. If he had lived professionally, not even the total dedication that some players have, but just to moderate his alcohol intake etc, we would not be having this conversation as he would be still first choice.

It is a shame, because that has affected everything, from his timing (hence his lack of being able to hit the screamers as often) to his pace and mobility. Unfortunately the English lifestyle is geared towards getting hammered with your mates, rather than the continental lifestyle, where they tend to spend their time having a couple of drinks over a meal with family.}

06 Jul 2017 12:16:41
It is a shame a real shame. And thanks again for taking the time ed to explain the rooney situation as many of us are not aware.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}
