Away from transfers for a minute, and assuming Rooney does leave, who do you guy's think will be our captain next year? My bet would be Valencia. Model pro and one of our most consistent players these days and vital to how we play imo. Been with us ages now as well, so reckon Jose will ask him first. Hope we don't have a club captain like Carrick, need someone out there who's playing week in week out.

It has to be Herrera.
It needs to be someone who is tactically aware, good engine, good communicater, intelligent, fit to play 90% of games.
Herrera ticks every box for me.

I never see Valencia open his mouth during games so he wouldn't be my pick I'd go either Herrera or Pogba for some reason I always like a centre mid being captain.

Herrera valencia does not speak English so it will be a media issue also too quiet imo. Herrera would be my choice.

I have a feeling that the stuff that annoys some about Herrera - the ref-chasing, play-acting etc. - might just disppear were he to be made captain. He's obviously the sort that takes his responsibilities seriously, cares about his teammates, and always seems to strive to be well thought of amongst fans and staff.
De Gea is also a good call, depending on how long he sees himself staying at the club. It would certainly be helpful if he were to take on a bigger leadership role this year, especially with a relatively inexperienced first choice central-defensive partnership in Bailly and Lindelof in front of him.
