Feel like Jose is creating a similar Vidic-Ferdinand partnership in Bailly-Lindelof. Seeing some hope of a strong defense. Love it and can't wait for more signings.

666red I agree with you. I'm looking forward to seeing those two form a CB partnership.
Hopefully Rojo returns from injury with no problems. He derserves a mention as he and Bailly were arguably our best CB pairing this season.

666 I would be very wary to label a player who hasn't kicked a ball yet for the club as part of a new "Rio and Vidic" partnership. let's see how it goes but don't give the lad a tag that he probably won't live up to.

Good start to the transfer activity. Didn't overpay for a pretty decent defender who has been thoroughly scouted for a year. Good that the manager has identified his recruits and getting them in early. Best part of Lindelof-Bailly partnership is that they are both young and have their best years ahead of them.

Anyone considered we could see a back three of Bailly Lindelof and Rojo?

{Ed004's Note - It would be a very strong back 3 however I think it is unlikely. I can't remember Jose ever playing one}

Not for as I don't think we have the defensive type wingers the way Chelsea or Juve do for instance. It will be interesting to see what becomes of players like Shaw and Martial who Jose has had swipes it in the press over the past season.

I could see Rojo being ahead of Shaw at left back though. Not my personal preference but can see it, hopefully Shaw has plenty of games in pre season, stays fit and kicks on. Happy with Lindelof signing aswell, home and Bailly only 22 so a partnership for years to come hopefully.

Won't be fit till September apparently shaw.

Rojo was generally a disaster whenever he played at left back. He's much better in the central defense, and I'm sure that's what Jose intends for him unless he's forced by injuries into another course.

Do you think Jose will let him go Ken? I hope not but I think he will.

Id depends maze add i said above I another thread. Personally i don't see any hope for martial or shaw under jose. I hope i'm wrong but i just don't see them being his type of player.
They may well get another chance but he will come down on them like a tonne of bricks at the earliest opportunity. I don't think either will last unless they show a cchange in their attitudes.
In shaws case many managers have said it. I find it hard to forgive his apparent lack of professionalism.
In martials i'm nit questioning his training effort as I've no idea. He looks super fit but its just his deamnor and personality does not seem to fit jose's
Id be looking to sign rose or mendy they are what i consider too be the best game changing lbs potentially available.
Imi
Imo shaw will never be as good as he could have or should have been. touted as potentially the best lb in europe i don't see him coming near that level now.
