Why's everyone getting so worked up about Silva? Monaco has had a great year, but they remind me of Dortmund a few years back, great team, but then all their players leave and don't do particularly well elsewhere.

I really hope we sign Eric Dier, that would be my main target. Long term replacement for cdm and centre back cover. I would definitely throw 60m+ for him.

We really need a lb, preferably Danny Rose or Jose Gaya. A cb, I would take a punt on Stefan de Vrij, I know he's had his injury problems, but has international experience and has played in a very defensive league for a while now. I would much rather him than a very inflated Michael Keane. I would much let Rojo and Jones go, with Smalling and Blind the year after, as to many at one time will screw us over.

Im very excited with the Perisic rumours as he is a great player. Do think we need a Matuidi or a Parejo to add numbers in midfield, but Dier would solve a lot of problems at least for a season.

I really wanted Morata, but that ship has sailed, but Griezman would be a very adequate back up. I hope Rashford and Martial are given more chance up top next year though.

De vrij a good signing, keep smalling but let go rojo, griezmann an ok back up to morata,

29 May 2017 14:24:19
You can't be serious about Eric Dier mate. 60 million?

I watched a ton of Spurs this year and for me he is the weak link in that team. I will not be surprised if they buy a replacement for him. His passing is woeful and DCM or not you need to be able to pass the ball well in todays football.

Perisic and morata i would be happy to see but eric dier will add nothing to our team. Pogba is also loose with his passing hence the poor assist numbers and we need a CM that can dictate play.

I see the last part was cut, a bit harsh isn't it.

{Ed002's Note - Your posts have become rude and abusive - you are lucky they don't jst get deleted. As it does every summer - the pages are simply deegrading.}

29 May 2017 14:58:51
Please, Please Please. Don't hack off Ed 002 again, just when info may get a few more bones to it.
Let's all be patient - and polite otherwise we will all be the losers.

You do know I was joking about morata and griezman 'common_sense? ' They are both great players, my preference is morata, but I am not trying to belittle griezman, obviously their prices show who is considered best. I know it's hard to tell over text, but you need to show a little common sense and not take everything so serious.

As for Rojo, don't be fooled by a bit of passion. He's constantly injured himself and is not particularly anyone's first choice. As for smalling, he isn't the greatest but he is English and is a lot more experienced in the premier league and playing centre back.

Eric Dier is a very good player and is someone I think would prosper in our team. As for passing, when you spend £80 million you expect someone to be able to pass. What does pogba offer then? certainly not goals.

29 May 2017 15:13:12
We need a Dier type player . If not Dier then that Scottish midfielder at PSG "Mc Tweedi" would do nicely😆😆.

29 May 2017 15:28:11
Aaallj5. I disagree with basically all the post. Pogba has been a lot better than people give him credit for.
I'll sell Smalling tomorrow as he's useless and has been going backwards for three years.
Dier is average at best. If we pay £60m we will show the world that our club is the laughing stock it is. There are much better options including our own fosu mensah.
Greizman and Morata both excellent. But I'm not sure greizman will excel in our league. Morata is a big risk as he's been in and out of teams and not sure how he'll perform if the pressure is on him as the main striker.
Let's see what happens.

60m for dier is a valuation bordering on lunacy even at today's hugely inflated prices.
There is over a dozen cdm players that are better and would not command that sort of fee. I think he is a tidy player but wannayama is keeping him out of that position at spurs more often than not for a reason. Good player but not the best option to us I'm sure.
I also think Rojo is very poor if we could sell Rojo smalling and Jones for a combined 60m and replace them with Keane lindelof and tuanzabe for 60m that would be business well done imo.
I reckon the greizman and ddg sagas might rumble on a while yet. I'd like greizman to join but don't want his camp jerking us around.
Perisic I don't know a lot about but he is highly regarded and has had a decent season In a poor inter team always does well for Croatia and he will give us a different dimension of he signs.
Did we lose out on silva? I'm sure we enquired but not sure if he was on our first choice list.
I've not seen confirmation of mendy to city yet. He would be a great option for lb.
Fabhino is the 1 Monaco player I would like us to sign above any other. Strong versatile And technically superb.

29 May 2017 16:54:13
What I feel would happen is that 2-3 players would leave this window, and 2-3 again in January after growing frustrated sitting on the bench.
If anyone has seen Perisic, he's very good with the ball at his feet and carrying the ball. Traditional winger don't usually work out well in Italy. He takes people on a lot, and is of a good height as well.
But my personal opinion is to spend a little extra and buy either Pulisic or Ousmane Dembele who both are younger and better wingers than Perisic.

29 May 2017 17:26:57
Good posts Ken and Rohan. Perisic is a good player but due to his age, we can't be paying over the odds for him. But he's certainly better than any wingers we've got. I also think we should go for Costa from Bayern as we need more than one winger. Martial Rashford Mata lingard and mkhiktaryan have all played wide and failed in my opinion. So we need specialized wingers.
I agree with Ken that Fabinho will be a fantastic addition. Also, despite his age, Matuidi will be a fantastic addition to our team.

29 May 2017 18:04:11
Ken do you think we would get £20m a piece for each of Jones, Smalling and Rojo?

29 May 2017 18:27:04
Yes wazza. West ham Newcastle stoke everton or the likes could do a lot worse than spend 20m plus on the likes of Jones or smalling 2 English internationals great experience both would be low risk ( ignoring jones injury record) and Better than anything they have. Even getting 50m plus for the 3 and replace them with lindeof Keane and tuanzabe for 60m it would be sound business.

29 May 2017 19:55:33
15-20m each for Smalling and Rojo, 10-15 for Jones (I doubt clubs will ignore his injury record Ken)

It never changes here.

Everyone agreeing that Dier was a 'weak link'. It's just incredible.

He is Not £60m, but definitely is not a weak link.

We are in for him, and he would be a perfect addition.

Just need Ngiak and IAMKLOOT to reel this in.

{Ed007's Note - I miss KLOOT. I bet if him and Sydney were still posting there would be a thread about the EC victory anniversary. I know it doesn't mean much to those that think football was invented in 1992 but it's an important part of the club's history and not one poster has mentioned it. They're all too busy worrying about who City are signing or dreaming up ways to spend millions that they have no control over and pulling their pudden over the thought of who Utd should sign. It's such a shame.}

29 May 2017 21:39:25
Mulamno so you agree a max of 55m for the 3.

29 May 2017 23:38:23
Omg bond 😂😂😂.

{Ed007's Note - Am I wrong though, Patzi? Legends of Utd, REAL legends who loved the club and not just because of their pay packet led by a wonderful man that nearly died in Munich and who went on to lead Utd to be kings of Europe when it wasn't all about the money and not one poster on here has mentioned it - don't you think that's a shame?}

29 May 2017 23:24:47
Ken if you're valuing Jones and Smalling at 20 million plus then I feel a lot better about my valuation of Dier. According to most people on this site both of them are deemed flops, plus they are on very expensive wages and injury prone.

Why wouldn't the West Ham's and Evertons spend an extra 10 million and get themselves a Keane or Lindelo? Both are younger and more desirable.
