Hi Eds.

Is Perisic a genuine option?
I for one would welcome him with open arms. Creative, two footed, and strong. Wouldn't say no to Brozovic while we are at it but can't see that happening.

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

Agree0 Disagree0

It was so much better when it was "RTFP" and "RTP"

Manctom answer sadly is yes, ed002 stated that perisic could be an option. Just imagine city spending 50mn on silva and we spending 45 on perisic. City will have silva or sane or sterling on wing we will have perisic or lingard.

CSM

Why would it be sadly yes? We've been crying out for an out and out winger for a long time perisic would give us width that we haven't had since fergie. Bernardo Silva is a talented player but he is similar to what we already have he likes to drift in all the time.

Your writing perisic off even before he's kicked a ball for us. For all we know Bernardo Silva could flop.

I'd be quite excited if we managed to get perisic.

Also he apparently has attitude issues which is why he did not last long at any of the german clubs.

28 May 2017 07:49:08
dave i have watched perisic in a few times and i have not been impressed, he is at best an average winger, yes he has a bit of pace but does not have much trickery to go along with it and he is inconsistent with the final ball, he in essence is like a croatian ashley young, ok player but never first 11 quality for us.

Also Epl unlike Serie A does not have an issue with pace, which is why average players like cuadrado and salah look world beaters there and rubbish here, he will be a major flop. Bernardo silva for 50mn or perisic for 40 is not even a question, can silva flop absolutely but the probability of silva flopping and perisic turning out to be good is as good as the probability that donald trump would be a better president than barack obama.

I think Perisic is a very good player. But I would prefer to get Costa from Bayern as a winger option.
Bernardo Silva is not an out and out winger but a creator in the mold of David Silva. Pep is buying all these players that can interchange and play in a number of positions, as he did at Barca. Bernardo Silva went for £43m and he will be the signing of this window.
Mourinho says he's got surprises so I'm hoping they're good surprises as Perisic will be ok but not brilliant. Good surprises will be alexis Sanchez and Neymar and Greizman. So let's hope it's not another summer of can Woodward convince them to join.
City and Chelsea seem to do their purchases very swiftly.
Let's see if the window will offer exciting surprises because we're already miles behind the likes of city, Chelsea and Spurs.

I'm sure Jose and United's scouts have seen something in Perisic we experts have not. I don't get Bernardo Silva though at all. He's Juan mata all over again just younger. The last thing we need is another right sided player cutting inside providing us no width which is what we crave! We can also play Miki out wide if needed.

28 May 2017 09:32:37
I agree what you're saying about Bernardo Silva Eric79. I can't understand why everyone's getting their knickers in a twist. He's not what we currently need. As you say, we already have Mata, Miki and Lingard. He suits Pep down to a tee, not Jose though.
Still a bit miffed with this Perisic link though. I'd rather the other Croatian at Inter, Brozovic.

28 May 2017 09:45:28
I think willian would be an good move for us and player.

28 May 2017 10:00:09
eric bernardo silva is juan mata with a bit more pace and hell lot more acceleration and is definitely a better dribbler than juan mata though does not have as a good vision as mata or as good at passing, but he has a lot of potential and can be a lot better than he currently is. Also he is a hard worker defensively and frankly a lot better than juan mata at that, he is the perfect creative player for jose mourinho team, a great creative player but also a willing and able to trackback, tackle and defend.

28 May 2017 10:13:28
But silvas game is to cut inside from the right we need width the reason we haven't been able to break teams down this season is because we are to narrow when attacking.

28 May 2017 10:37:21
Dave this is exactly why we are trying to sign semedo, he will give us the width.

28 May 2017 10:36:12
Our play has been biased to the left heavily this season especially when Tony v wasn't playing. We need an outlet with pace and power on that right side someone who provides genuine width and good deliveries. This perfectly describes perisic. And not all signings must be 'marquee'. There's plenty of time for that left.

28 May 2017 10:59:52
Also dave what is the worst news about perisic is, according to ed002 he is seen as an option to Griezmann, if he comes we can forget Griezmann.

28 May 2017 11:05:27
They always score, small problem with your point is perisic is a left winger, played most of his career on lw.

28 May 2017 12:07:54
People craving about Silva. I bet most hadn't heard of him 12 months ago. Let's just trust the manager and get the player he needs to build his team rather than the shiny names. For all the money they paid, Sane hasn't impressed at City at all, so you never know.

28 May 2017 15:22:55
Remember the golden rule on this site, anyone our rivals sign are amazing, anyone we sign are no good, people have been doing it for years, never going to change. Nobody has a clue what's going on behind the scenes just slag off the club.

Jose knows what he's doing, our scouts will have been looking at the positions and types of players Jose wants, if we get Perisic it's because he fits the type of player we want.

28 May 2017 16:18:17
GDS are you really saying silva is not as good as perisic, also mourinho is not infallible you know, perisic is your typical jose mourinho hardworking but not much flair player, the last few jose mourinho signed at chelsea were schurrle, cuadrado, salah, willian. Apart from willian none actually were successful, and all of those were young so money wasted could actually be recouped, perisic is 28, so no resale value, from what i have watched not much standout ability and given jose's recent record with such type of signings not a great chance of success either.
