Pace gathering regarding michael Keane back to us for 25mil. Good business, don't we get 25% of the sell on fee back? 😂

All those haters laughing at us buying back another academy player for a high fee. Well we get the last laugh getting back 25% 😂.

Not bad eh, we loan him to Burnley for a few years and pay Burnley about £20m to do it 😃. Good business Burnley, can't fault them.

{Ed004's Note - if he is a replacement for Jones/Smalling I wouldn't complain but he can't be the only signing as I'm not sure he is good enough to be a mainstay in the team}

Probs not Ed, but i recks we will sell Smalling and Jones, they've had enough chances and with Rojo out for who know's long, that would leave us very light. As Ed2 said on the sharkopod, Lindelof is very much doable, so i recks we will go for them both. Still feel left back is a huge priority, pretty much been putting anyone there this season. Huge summer ahead, but all starts with next weds for me and how that goes, could effect our next five years IMO.

{Ed004's Note - Centre back options of Bailly + Keane for right side and Rojo + Lindelof on the left would be very strong. I can see Darmian, Jones, Smalling and Blind leaving this window. So hopefully we have Valencia + Semedo for the right and Shaw + Tierney/Aaron Martin competing on the left}

To be fair we would also have paid Keane about 8m in wages if he stayed and he would have less experience so not as bad as it seems.

Ed04 i like those options. 4 out 4 in with tfm and tuanzebe as further options and a lot more balance.

I genuinely like michael Keane, good defender.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out but according to ed lindelof is still 1st choice.

Ken take those rose tinted specs off. There's no way he was on anywhere even close to that.

Wazza it's not unusual for a player coming through the academy to sign a 40k per week contract if part of the first team squad and matchday squads.
So he could well have earned that sort of money. The is s he is now he will get 80 k per week plus sign ons costs etc. My point was more that we are getting a much more experienced and match hardened player coming back. A player that looks much better than smalling imo. If we sell smalling and buy Keane we could come out breaking even and have a much better player. In today's market we must be able to get 20m for smalling and woody has done ok recently on player sales.

Ken even if we round his time away from the club up to 2 years you've still got him on over £76K p/ w.

I very much doubt he got near £20K a week.

No doubt that his time away at Burnley has brought him on now and he probably wouldn't be as good now had he stayed.

My bad wazza I thought he was gone 4 years for some reason.
