Quick question, how is everyone so sure that James is a whinger and a troublemaker?
I have seen lots of comments to that effect on here but have nothing to reference why.
I heard he wants to move away to prove himself and play regular football which i respect.
I see he looks potentially a little lightweight for the prem but the guy clearly has great attributes, was a star at the world cup and every time he seems to get a chance at Madrid he scores and plays well so what's the beef?
Genuine question as everyone seems in the know about it.

Agree3 Disagree3

LVG was a star at the last world cup.

Ed002 has said many within the game consider him a flake, and he's normally pretty on the money. He is nowhere near consistent enough and obviously there must be several very good reasons why Real Madrid would have been happy to sell him for the past couple of years.

17 May 2017 09:16:51
Shappy I agree that Real Madrid want to sell him but I believe because he doesn't fit into their system ATM and he's not too big a star for Real Madrid to build a team around.

But I assure you that if they were desperate, they would have accepted several offers or tried to negotiate and cut on their losses.

Real have been touting him for two years and no one has been stupid enough to buy him and especially for €70m. Step in United and Woodward who will pay silly money for compketely overpriced players. The fact guadiolla said he will do well tells us that the opposite is true, if he believed that he will be putting an offer for him.
Rodriguez will be a monumental cockup if we bought him and will show us why our club are going nowhere at present.

{Ed004's Note - I agree that 70 million is way to too steep however if we could be bought for a reasonable price and is a Mata replacement it could be a very good move. He's an upgrade on probably all our current attacking options. I'm just worried it would result in no Griezmann signing}

Rodriguez MAY be an upgrade to what Utd currently have but he is so one footed it is embarrassing. I do not understand why any footballer does not spend time during or after training sessions to develop their weaker foot.

Rodriguez never uses his right foot. Developing a player's weaker foot is an easy job for any coach.

Wouldn't be worth the money imo.

Robben?

17 May 2017 12:01:05
5hbombs if only Messi had had a coach that could have developed his right foot he would have been decent.

17 May 2017 12:17:42
To be fair ken, Messi uses his right foot quite a lot too and can finish equally well with both feet.

Ed004
Where do you see pogba playing if he's bought?

{Ed004's Note - Depends on who we are playing. I'm expecting us to play 4231 mostly at home games next season and Pogba has shown he is good enough and capable of running the midfield from deep against the majority of sides we face. However, when we are away from home or facing top opposition (City etc) at home we will probably play a 433 with Herrera coming in to partner Pogba and add more energy and defensive covering. James would then be competing for a wide spot (where he has played before)}

17 May 2017 13:04:23
Redfaith he has s cored 3 right footed goals in last 3 seasons. And went through 7 games so far this season without the ball touching his right foot once.
I will concede he is pretty tasty on his left side all the same👏.

17 May 2017 13:23:59
Ken my point isn't that he uses his right foot regularly. It is that he has a sublime right footed finish in him as well when he needs to.

18 May 2017 05:32:19
So just to be clear in relation to my initial question. He's a flake and a waster only because the gospel according to ED002 says so? And he's a bit one footed despite the fact that its a pretty decent foot?

I agree with ED 004, not for 70 mill but for 50 mill why not if we can afford him.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know about a flake, as I am not even sure what one is, other than something you get in a 99, but I do know a number of coaches who have worked with him and have criticised his lack of workrate.}
