Afternoon Ladies and Gents. So it has been an up and down season and it comes down to 1 game to determine whether we have had a successful season or another poor season. Overall, I am confident Jose is doing a good job and is raising the standards again after they seemed to drop once SAF retired.

Approaching silly season, the turnover of players seems to be growing on a daily basis and I see lists of players out and in but we need to be more realistic so if I were to get a call from Jose and Woodward wanting my assistance, this is what I would be suggesting.

GK - Obviously if De Gea was to go we need to replace him, I reckon Hart for 1 or 2 seasons would be ideal with the long term vision being Periera who Jose seems to rate. the young Italian boy is obviously a favourite for some but would cost a lot and would prevent Periera's progress. Although, first choice would be to keep De Gea.

Full backs - The boy from Benfica and Valencia for RB, I think Shaw can still cut it and him and Blind are decent options for LB with Darmian able to cover R and L.

CB - When Smalling got sent off against City a year or 2 ago, I said it was time for him to move on, he came in to a bit of form but ultimately I do not believe he can take us to where we want to be so time to move on. Options? I read that Boateng would be open to leaving Munich after falling behind Hummells and Martinez and he would bring some experience and winning mentality and would partner Bailly well IMO. For those who will say we don't want someone who can't get into Munich's team, he is better then Smalling and realistically will we get a CB starting for one of the top teams? Other option is get Varane if possible if De Gea was to move.

CM - I think it is time Fellaini moved on also, he has done ok but we need someone to take us to the next level and compliment Herrera and Pogba better and I don't think Fellaini is the guy. So perhaps, Fabianho from Monaco or perhaps Gonalons from Lyon or Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio who have both had good seasons this year and maybe more realistically achievable of signing. I also think Kroos could do well alongside Herrera similar to the partnership he has with Modric.

Attack - Rooney is a club legend and I don't want a debate about him but it's time to move on. We have pace in Martial, Lingard, Miki and Rashford but I would be keen to Lukaku come in with 2 of those 4 playing off of him.

I would keep Mata and I would also keep Zlatan for another season as I think he brings an arrogance and standard that we need, I know this will draw a lot of debate but that's how I feel.

So to clarify, sell Smalling, Fellaini and Rooney, bring in a RB, CB, CM and Striker. 3 out and 4 in for me would be a realistic and achievable transfer market, potentially going to 4 out 5 in if De Gea was to leave. Alongside blooding a few more of the kids, I think we could have a strong squad going in to next season.

Just out of interest, on the goalkeeper score. Does anyone know how Johnstone's been getting on at Villa? Always thought he looked solid any time I've saw him in the u21s, but haven't seen much of Villa this season. Good to see you back, Ports, by the way.

Agree with most areas ports but have to disagree on hart as goalkeeper and not signing a left back. Hart has been woeful at torino and the owner has said he did not expect him to make as many mistakes as he has. If we were to go English I would go with butland if he can prove his fitness. Otherwise I would look towards oblak as losing de gea is huge. Left back needs to be signed because as much as I like shaw (and hope he makes it here), we cannot rely on him to be fit or be in form for a whole season. Football is a squad game and Spurs have two quality left and right backs and we need that as well. We have played the whole season without a proper left back and we have looked so unbalanced. That would be one of my first signings.

I trust Jose to get it right and although this year has not been good enough. A Europa win and a solid window and we will be challenging next year.

Park, my point about Hart though is he won't hinder Periera's progress to become our No. 1 whereas Oblak, Butland and the Italian boy would. An old head with experience in the sticks would offer stability and give Periera time to continue his development!

That's a good point ports. Pereira seems to be really highly rated within the club and Jose likes him. Interesting to see what happens!

Romero is a much better keeper than Hart.

Understand you're logic on Pereira but that dosent warrant signing someone like Joe Hart, makes far to many mistakes for my liking and to be honest is just knowhere near good enough, Romero is more reliable than Hart.

Hart should not even be mentioned alongside ddg let alone replace him, he is rubbish i would rather bring back 46 year old van der saar before thinking about hart.

Blind is everything an ideal jose mourinho full back shouldn't be, i like blind but unless mourinho picks him as reserve mf, he should be gotten rid of, he is useless rather replace him with likes of perreira or give tfm a chance.

I agree with fabinho but how is gonalons an upgrade over fellaini, i would even go as far saying fellaini is better than gonalons, i haven't seen much of milinkovic savic but he seems highly rated, but he has signed a new contract so that is a no go. Also modric and herrera are completely different payers and in anycase if kroos comes in we will still need a dm as none of our current lot are dm and where will pogba play if we have a mf of kroos and herrera.

Ibra is done, even if he comes back it won't be before end of the year what is the logic in keeping someone on that high wages when he won't even be playing, lukaku is as ed put it a flat track bully, i would rather have someone far more proven like griezmann if we are to pay 70-80 mn which everton will ask for.

Hart is about 29/ 30 isn't he? As a goalkeeper that's young so he would also block a youths progress.

Either way, we should keep away from him. But land is a better English keeper imo, he was just bang unlucky with that injury.

Handanovic is my personal choice, think he be a suitable replacement

Love Donnarumma but sounds like it going to be too much hard work getting him here.

{Ed004's Note - If De Gea leaves it has to be anyone but Hart. My choices would be Oblak or Donnarumma}
