James Rodriguez seemed to give a bit of farewell applause as he was substituted tonight.

Who would want us to sign him?

I don't want him I think he's massively overrated and it seems to me we already have that style of player In Mata.

It would make zero sense in selling Mata and bringing in Rodriguez.

I'd imagine there's a few on here who'd want and why do you

✌🏻.

He has much much more pace and drive in his little toe than Mata in his whole body. As brilliant and nice as Mata is, he's just not right for what we need. Good squad player, mind.

14 May 2017 23:04:16
Overrated. No thanks.

Mata has been played out of position since the day he joined. Love the guy, but James is better. Wonder if he is being bought as part of a front 3 or to play at 10 in a 4-2-3-1.

14 May 2017 23:42:07
Rodriguez is massively overrated. Waste of money. It's everything that's wrong about our transfer policy at present.

15 May 2017 08:02:08
James is an excellent number 10. Better than Mata and present day Rooney. Will add some craft and guile jay isn't severely lacking. Might also signify a shift in formation meaning we have him supporting Rash or Tony up top?

15 May 2017 08:28:56
Overrated primadonna who doesn't work hard or track back and has a penchant for pitching a fit if he gets dropped. I don't think there is a worse player for a mourinho system. Buying him would mean 2 man mf what was the logic of spending 100mn on pogba if we won't play a system best suited to him.

15 May 2017 08:59:42
Altering the debate slightly i would rather have James at 60m than griezmann at 85m. I think the latter is a good player but i have seen nothing in the CL matches that convinces me that we should be paying that much for him.

Allan, Griezmann is one of the best players in the world right now. His conversion rate is quite impressive and he is able to score goals from all kinds of angles.

If he can sort out how he acts outside of the stadium I think he'd be a perfect striker for our current squad.

I recall we bought a certain difficult, trouble making French man a few years back. He found his home at United and turned out ok. James may well be the same? He's infinitely better than anything we have in that position, and if Jose can put his arm round him and get the best from him he he'd be amazing.

{Ed025's Note - i think he would be a good buy eric...just so long as he does,nt waffle on about seagulls following trawlers mate.. :)

15 May 2017 11:20:40
I have my doubts about him, but if he was as lazy as everyone says, then you'd think Jose would be aware of it seeing as how he managed him!

15 May 2017 11:29:20
Nou mourinho's never managed james, he was signed by ancelloti.

15 May 2017 12:10:29
CSM, I was going to check on Google before I posted, then I thought, 'nah, can't be ar$ed, I'll just wing it'. Lesson learnt. Don't rely on memory at 46 :)

15 May 2017 12:12:45
I would add, if he really was that type of lazy player, then he would be anathema to Jose. If he thinks our current players don't have the right fight and spirit, why would he be interested in James?

15 May 2017 12:22:00
Nou has anyone credible really reported james to utd, the sources for this story are marca and a bunch of nobodies from Spanish radio. I think utd's interest is taken as granted due to woody's galactico fetish rather than a real concrete interest from our side.
