Assuming we reach Europa final, who plays in goal. Harsh to not start Romero, he's done well in the games he's played but if I was DDG I'd be upset if I wasn't picked to play in the final
I dare say if DDG doesn't start it could be a sign he is leaving in the summer.

I hate it when the back up plays every round only for the main man to start in the final. Romero for me, he deserves his moment in the sun.

I like Romero but this is simple for me. European cup final you play your strongest possible side. And DDG is far better than Romero. So he should play.

Play your best team would be my instinctive reaction. But there are always circumstances and dynamics wee are unaware of.
Romero has played very well to be fair to him.
It's hard to know what Jose will do but it would be ddg for me.

If it is known already that DDG is leaving then definitely Romero. Merit side think still Romero. If decision of leaving not firm then still Romero and DDG plays striker. 😂😂.

Ed, if that happens then so be it. Integrity, loyalty, these are things that are important to me, unfortunately football has forgotten them. If Romero plays and gets us to the final then he deserves to play in the final. If he cocks up, then he cocks up. When I lay my head down at night I sleep well because I know I have been righteous today, how many in football can say that? Not many.
{Ed025's Note - i respect that AJH, we all have different views on who we would pick in our teams and to be fair to romero he has not done much wrong, but the europa is massive now for united as it looks the only way into the CL so maybe jose will pick his best keeper who is of course de gea...it may not be ethical and its a tough one to call so it will be interesting to see if your manager has the same views as you mate..

DDG 100% - those of you saying 'Romero' are living is some kind of Bizzarro world on this issue if you ask me.
All season the Europa League has been seen as some back door into the CL. Yet you are prepared to play the most crucial game with a weaker keeper, just because it might be unfair on Romero?
Romero still picks up a wage and win bonus, is the number 2 goalkeeper and frankly not one of us would be too bothered if he left in summer. Yet you would play him in nets for the THE most important game of the past 2-3 years easily?
If Jose has been smoking whatever it is you guys have been then God help us, because it's needlessly disadvantaging us playing Romero. You play your strongest team in a vital cup final, this is even more important than a normal cup final as well, as it means advancement if we win, not start again like a normal cup final!

It will depend on the mental state of both. If DDG has his head in Madrid or is not focussed then its going to affect the decision. Romero is supposedly off to Milan but perhaps he has the approval to go. The best judge is the manager who works with them and I trust he will get it right. If they are both equally focussed then it has to be the best team and that is DDG. Assuming we get there, I don't like assuming and we have a big game on Thursday before we have any decision to even think about.

My heart says romero because he has played all the away along and to be honest not made many mistakes.
But my head says de gea. He is our no.1 and arguably the world's best. If we go into the final I want the strongest possible starting lineup.

I posted a rumour Romero bought a house in Milan last week and it was followed up in the press with rumours he is going to Inter. Who knows but I wouldn't base the decision on summer transfers just mental focus and ability.
