The anti Mourinho brigade is out in full force again. Can people please be a little patient and give him some time. It would be harsh to say we haven't improved this season. Next season would really be the one where he should be judged on given he brings in his players and makes his team. Besides Zlatan, nobody has really chipped in when required. So essentially who should Mourinho fall back on or what options did he have. Before people start saying Rashford, remember of all the teams, Rashford has played the most minutes for a teenager. It's only been one game against Chelsea that he stood up.

A complete pre season with his group of players and then we can start to judge Jose. He has been the most decorated manager of the past decade, surely there must be a reason to it than just negative football?

{Ed004's Note - He has certainly started laying the foundations and I'm optimistic for next season. We will probably lose between now and the end of the season but 24 games unbeaten is a very good record in the premiership. Since that 4-0 loss to Chelsea our defensive record has been amazing and most people still agree that we need a rb to compete with Valencia, a cb to partner Bailly and a consistent left back (hopefully Shaw). Yet for all this defensive reinforcements required how many times this season have we dominated and been deserved winners yet couldn't finish off the other team? I think part of that is mental although that should improve as we have a lot of young players. Really looking forward to next season}

Who's anti-Jose?

{Ed007's Note - Uncle Joe's wife, Josephine.}

I don't think people have been anti Mourinho. I for one can see how much we have improved this season. We've been very unlucky at times and arguably we deserve to be another 9 points or more ahead.
But that's football for you, if you don't have any luck things don't go as well for you. Ibra has scored the majority of goals this season and Rashford and co have all been guilty of not scoring enough.
The chances have been there, we've not taken them. Perhaps you mistake the anti Mourinho brigade with how people reacted to the City game. We weren't great but we go a point, if your were a City fan you'd feel hard done too, just like we have felt this season.
I would have preferred to play Rashford and Martial up top against City as I think both players would have caused their defence a lot of problems. With the injuries that we've had, Mourinho simply defended and got a point which could prove to be invaluable.
I think given our injuries 352 formation would be the way to go with either Young/ Shaw and Valencia as wing backs with Bailly Blind and Darmian in defence.
We might even see Blind put in midfield but I think that would be unlikely. Tuanzebe might get some minutes depending on how we play and if we succumb to further injuries.
I'm optimistic and hoping for 3/ 4th place finish and winning the Europa league. Next season mounting a title challenge again.

If we fail to qualify for champions league next season, I'd really want us to go all in for premier league and ignore the Europa league.

I for one am proud of the manager and team this season; what ever happens.

I 100% believe that we are going to be back at the top within a few years.

We have drawn 13 games now. I think it was 93 season when we won something like 7 games 1-0, all scored by Cantona. that's the difference at this level. We have created plenty of chances in all the draws we have had. At least 3 games where we were winning and opposition equalised in last 5 mins. Jose has made us hard to beat for sure but despite what folk may think about Thursday v City that has not been at the expense of creating chances. I remember in November we played some lovely stuff and think drew every game. Ibra has been a great player for us. Taken to fans hearts straightaway and scored a bag full of goals. But he's missed quite a few too. Playing with some more pace up front and I think this team changes overnight as the Chelsea result showed. I do think this close season will be seismic in terms of number of players in / out. But in terms of right manager - we have our man. As I have always said, we just got him 3 years later than what we should have.

Don't think there is an anti mourhinho brigade.
Some sensitive over dramatic fans who seems to get upset if you don't post how great Jose is .

Just for the record I'm a Jose fan, really wanted him at united .

If the Chelsea game was great the city was dire . I'm I ok to say that?

Jred, hold that thought and we will discuss it at season close. Sometimes, I believe, these are the games that are the most important in the end. Remember the season we lost to City on goal difference, we lost 6-1 to City. You make that 0-0 like the one on Thursday and you got one more Premier League trophy in your cabinet. Fine Margins.

Besides, you see the number of players missing from the first team. It was always going to be that way.

Shan
There is more than one way to skin a cat . we could of won the game, we could of drew 4.4 we coild of got beat . There are several other ways we coild of approached the game .

I haven't seen a single person say that a point away against city isn't a good point .
I haven't seen anyone say that the team isn't moving in the right direction.
I haven't seen an anti mourhinho brigade just a discussion about what was a pretty crap match .

In fact if you read some of the threads below there are some very good points made for both sides of the argument and some good banter .
Fans discussing one of the biggest games of the season .

But you stick with your us against them argument.

Mourinho's a winner and will do what is needed, regardless of the desired playing style. With minor surgery to team, really looking forward to the future.

Shan this is the problem with mourinho fan boys they can't take even valid criticism of their god emperor, the point at etihad was a good point, i don't even have much of an issue with a poor performance as sometimes its just not your day.

My problem is we did not even try, its one thing to be happy with a point and another to not even try for 3. Our mf did not even cross the halfway line in the second half, we had a corner at around 70th minute in the game and we had a grand total of 4 men in the box, even pulis shows more attacking intent than that, mkhitaryan and martial played as if they were a second set of full backs not even trying to ever get forward. Call me anti-mourinho but that is pulis football.

29 Apr 2017 15:21:11
You are a winner until you aren't. This season Jose has been a "drawer" in my eyes, last season at Chelsea he was a "loser", hopefully next season he will be a "winner" again.

But I hope he learnt a lot from that City game.

I've read everything and I can't see ant anti-Jose posts, just some sensible debate. His acolytes need to stop being so sensitive, this isn't North Korea where differences in views are not allowed.

jose pullis.

@ed 007,

Haha "uncle jose's wife"

I enjoyed that. Certainly made me giggle.

How come no one else has acknowledged that magnificent bit of bantar yet?

{Ed007's Note - They're a bunch of unappreciative ******* My talents and rapier wit are wasted on here :-D Thanks though, the cheque's in the post btw.}

I did notice it, Ed007, but I didn't want to blow smoke up your ar$e :)

{Ed007's Note - Don't be doing that! I was laughing so hard at the Glasgow derby my piles have popped out! #anusol
