So Zlatan has probably played his last game for us and we are likely to try and sign a typical Mourinho No.9 in the summer as a replacement.
So of the three most recent names linked who would people prefer?
Morata for 40m?
Belotti for 80m?
Or Lukaku for 90m?
Personally out of those options I feel Morata might be the best option. Lukaku is obviously Prem proven, but is the most expensive and has also not worked well under Mourinho before. I also have reservations that he is a flat track bully as he rarely plays well against the top teams.
Belotti has had a great season, but is he a one season wonder? And at his price can we afford to gamble that much on a player who has never played abroad coming from a league where the success rate of players coming from Italy to England has been patchy at best. Personally I'd want to see him get another year under his belt, there must be a reason Torino are almost desperate to sell for a large fee this summer, like they feel his value may have peeked.
Morata has proven himself in a foreign league with Juventus and although his scoring record was hardly phenomenal there is a reason Madrid paid so much to bring him back and why so many other teams were itching to buy him last year. He also has a good past relationship​ with Mourinho, and Mourinho will be very aware of his talents.
For me it's Morata out of the options available.

How about greezman and a wide player. I don't think we should go for any of the players you mentioned.

Morata would be my last pick out of that list and he actually looks completely out of place there. No idea why you would pick him over a proven PL goalscorer. That's without even mentioning the fact that he's not actually better than what we have already.

Just don't think he's prolific enough Shappy - if we have the money and they're available we need to get guaranteed goals such as Griezman or - sharp breath/ Suarez.

Id go for lewandowski or muller over belloti, lukaku or morata .
{Ed004's Note - I wonder would Aubameyang would be an option? Apparently he wants out of Dortmund - at a good age where Rashford could take over from him eventually. Or if we get Griezmann alternate him with Martial and Rashford then sign a top winger}

I can think of 80 million reason why a mid table team like Torino would want to sell boletti.
As for morata being proved in a foreign league with Hibernia? Is that not the same league boletti plays in .
Also did Madrid not buy him back on the cheap with a view to selling him on .

Belotti 25 in his last 29 games.
Lukaku is epl proven and that's a big plus in my book.
Morata would be a distant 3rd for me.

Greizmann isn't a traditional No.9 that Mourinho likes to play with. Think McCarthy, Drogba, Milito, Benzema, Costa and Zlatan. He likes a physical centre forward who can bring others into play.
Martial and Rashford will never be his ideal first choice. Greizmann isn't that kind of player either. The latest rumour is he wants Greizmann and a new No.9.
Lewandowski would be my first choice with Aubameyang as my second choice but neither are available. The three mentioned in the op are.
If we are to sign Greizmann and a No.9 along with a CM, CB a couple of full backs and possibly a GK I don't see how we can buy them all if we spend 160m on two forwards.
I also happen to feel that Morata best suits what Mourinho wants from a centre forward. If we are to be successful under Mourinho we need players who can play as Mourinho wants. I know Morata isn't the big name signing many of you crave, but I feel he is best for what Mourinho.

I worry we are going after another big name. I think Rashford is good enough and needs the chance to prove it. We should be looking for a proven goal scorer who is happy to play some of the time, not a mega star who will cost a ridiculous fee and expect to play every game.
However, it looks like we are in the market but Lukaku for £70/ 80M is just nuts, if we are going to play that sort of money then let's aim bigger than Lukaku.

I wouldn't be surprised to see dries mertens at old Trafford next year personally and also make a move for griezman (not sure if we will get him though)

I think the striker that fits the bill is Defoe.
Cheap, proven, and if he's passionate enough would not want to miss his last chance at a major trophy.
Every time I've seen him, he looks deadly to me.
Also has a good scoring record.
Still a better striker than Rooney.
I hope Rooney retires from football, spends his summer break training very hard and lose weight and save us money.

Morata isn't even in the top 20 strikers in the world. We should be looking at the likes of Modeste, Lacazette, Aubameyang, Lewandowski, Kane, Belotti, Lukaku, Icardi, Dybala, Dembele and even Cavani (considering Rashford) before him.
There are so many forward options at the moment I really don't see why we should chase Madrid's expensive outcast.

I agree though AJH. There are much better forwards out there. But mourinho does like a big no.9 so I suspect he will bring one of that stature in to the club to replace ibra.
