I jane to say we have been waiting for a performance like that from martial.
Young players form will fluctuate we all accept that I think. But a players effort should not fluctuate.
When the class of 92 came through they were hit and miss at times until late they gained experience but fergie thought them that 100% effort and hard work in every game was paramount.
Jose is teaching that to the likes of rash Shaw and martial. They would be well advised to listen and head.

Martial looks a better player at 9 Imo has more options, he has looked isolated and easy to mark out left this season.

Ready to mark because be had stood still most of the time.
Also be had had no overlapping full back to make slave fit him.
I like him coming from the left as he is not dynamic enough. Also I feel he is at his best running with the ball amd you get more opportunity to do that from wider either cutting in or going down the line
He is a good finisher though. He did brilliantly for his goal today. A beautiful pass from herrera too.
I don't care where he plays as long as he gives everything in every game. Mistakes are fine but poor effort or lacklustre displays are not. But these young players will do well if they do what the coach wants if not they will not be in the team.

Same for any player the young players are still learning there trade and will have ups and downs.
We have a new manager with new ideas some players take time to adapt.
Doesn't mean there bad players or have bad attitudes Imo.
I really rate martial I know you have sad he won't be a top player but I think he will prove u wrong .
Think he will go on to be a cf.

At 19 it's impossible to say.
I was reading an interview with lampard. He says you can play in the same position for 10 games in a row but have a different job or set of instructions in each of those games. He said Jose rates his players by their ability to understand and apply those instructions. He won't waste anytime on players that don't try and do what he wants them to. But if you apply yourself and are 100% dedicated to his cause then he is the best manager in the world and he will defend you to the hilt. But if you don't he will challenge you or call you out on it in public. So he said he is a complex character but simple to work for if you tow the line.
He has seen great players continue to do their own thing and get sold.

Just because a player is not showing the attitude Jose wants does not mean he has a bad attitude .
Just learning to adapt to a new coach tactics philosophy.
I think that's even more true with young players who are coming to terms with the difference in demands of being a prospect apposed to a first team player at a club like united and the extra pressure and expectation that brings.
Time will tell but martial looks a talent to me I'm sure most united fans hope he proves u wrong.

Jred, Ken was not saying Martial is a bad player. He's saying he's not trying hard enough and not applying the manager's orders.
And that's the important word "orders". Mourinho is the manager and his orders should be followed no matter who you are and how good you think you are. If that fails, then chaos will be the result.
Martial is a fantastic prospect but he has to listen and do what the manager tells him, period.

If Jose says it's a bad attitude it's a bad attitude as his opinion is the only one that counts in this case.
Jred you use the argument 'Jose obviously likes fellaini' when posters critisised him.
So it's the same thing you may not think it's a bad attitude but Jose does and that's all that matters.

Martial like shaw has also continued to be part of his plans and been praised by Jose .

A young player learning his trade and what it takes to succeed at the very top . Which I really think he will.
