Anybody else surprised that Alli has been omitted from the shortlist for Player of The Year?
Personally, I think he's the best English player I've seen since Scholes.

I think nominations were some months ago Stevie when he was perhaps not playing quite as well. A good example of the opposite is Sanchez who has gone right off the boil.

Aye, I forgot that, mate. Not the first time that you'd think it would be better to hang fire for a few months. By the way, I meant best English midfielder, not player. Before jred comes looking for me.

Very tough this season, their been a handful that deserve being shortlisted, I think recently though it hard to go against Ali, think maybe apart from Kane he been the best player in the league this 2nd half of the season.

Ali has probably been player of the season definitely top should be in the top 5.

I think they should wait and make the announcement day after the season ends, what happens if Ali goes and scores 10+ goals and be the main reason why Spurs win the league (hypothetically)

Every time I watch Spurs Eriksen impresses me more than Alli, I wish we had signed him when we were linked with him years ago, such a classy player and massively underrated in my opinion.

Agreed GDS2, should of signed him from Ajax all those years ago considering they only paid 12 million for him, remind me of Scholes in a sense, tbh though I would of got Sneijder before he went to Real Madrid as he the closest player I've ever seen compared to Scholes.
