I might get many thumbs down for this but what about offering defoe a year contract. Would be good sub for the last 20 mins to snatch a goal. Could be like signing larson (henrik) or a fitter owen. Could always offer him a player coach contract which i would think would help rash and martial with their poaching.

Defoe has still got it. He'd be a good addition to any PL squad as an impact sub in my opinion; and ours is no exception. However, not sure Defoe would fancy warming the bench.

He's seems to be really prolific in front of goal, and has always had a great work rate. His finishing is top class but I'm unsure if Jose wants him, but I can see him warming the bench and coming on firing and actually getting at the end of crosses. It may very well be his last chance at getting a premier league trophy next season, and I would prioritise him over resigning Hernandez, as his is better all around. Though extremely unlikely and he'll end up at west ham, west brom etc.

I wanted him at United for a long period about a decade ago. His chance has been and gone though. It's a shame he never made it to the biggest stage.

Was trying to think of a short term signing that wouldn't block rash and martial and might even help develop them plus would save money so we could go big on 2 new centre midfielders which i feel is our priority. A kroos AND vidal style signing. I know unlikey b4 you say anything but i can dream.
