Ed you must be a happy toffee at the moment. You scoffed at me when i told you that you will finish ahead of pool and I still see that happening.
Iknow you have been quite scathing of Jose recently but surely you can see the difference in the mentality in United at the moment. Personally I believe that the style of football can be improved to a large degree his Porto and Madrid teams and 2 season's at Chelsea his teams were very good to watch for the most part. But imo the 1st thing Jose had to work on was the mentality and work ethic and to restore a winning mentality and a will to work hard in every game in order to win. Once that is restored and I believe it is then the results positions and confidence will improve too. Only then can the football improve. If they finish strong and possibly win the europa then we will be a better and more ready team for the challenges that lie ahead for next year.
{Ed025's Note - i am happy ken and after the next 2 games against te pol and united it will tell us where we are in the grand scheme of things, on jose, when he first came to the prem he was a breath of fresh air with his witty remarks and style of play that was very endearing to most football fans, but in the past few years for me he has turned into this obnoxious egotistical monster who i just cant abide, hes he improved united..yes, will you play great football in the style that had fans off their seats in awe..no, he is now a grinder out of results and the respect i have always had for united is sadly on the wane, he has too much to say on other clubs business like last week on boro and although i still wish united well it is in spite of him rather than because of him mate..

I think mourinho is doing a great job on the team but he's also working hard behind the scenes to improve scouting network. When Fergie was at United, all other clubs and fans hated him. We're a big club and everyone hates us, but that's the way it is and we have to get on with it.
Do I like mourinho's demeanour? No. But he's the manager and he gets results. I would rather have him than most managers.
If koeman was our manager, the press would have eaten him alive. United is a special club and this needs a special person to manage it. It is why moyes was so woeful and why lvg couldn't cope. When the whole footballing world is against you, it needs a special person to stand up and take them on and mourinho is exactly that person.

Ed25, I think that's a bit harsh really on Jose. People change, we all change over the years. Time takes its toll, to expect him to be the same personality he was 10 years ago is unlikely imo. Appreciate your views on Jose though. But I personally love the guy. Think Everton are definatly going in the right direction and think Koemans a good manager. Interesting to see what happens with Lukaku this summer mate, think you'll keep hold of him? Swap you for Rooney 😜.
{Ed025's Note - if rom goes anywhere stand it will be to chelsea i think, yeah i really like koeman as well but fear that if barca come a callin or maybe even arsenal it would not surprise me if he jumped ship as well, and if the old jose (the nice one) were to come back then i would be very happy for united, my view is that he got abducted by aliens 3 years ago and they sent down this robot who has been put on earth to disrupt our pleasure mate.. :)

Ed, You might be right on Koeman. He's a decent PERSON and a good manager😊. But he's not a top manager. He was at Ajax feynoord and Psv a total of 9 years and won nothing. His spell at benfica also was a disaster as most my benfica friends will tell you. In fact his 17 year spell in management has yielded no honours at all. I'm not sure Barcelona will be going for him. And that's why pep, Jose klopp and conte are different. Their character and mindset is different from most managers.
If truth be told, i don't like any of the above managers for the way they winge. My choice when Jose does leave will be Pochittino as I think he conducts himself better than all of the above. But time will tell. Jose has come in, changed the mentality of the players, changed the scouting network and won a trophy. So he's not doing badly. But I agree that he could lighten up and smile every now and then but I don't think the aliens will allow him.
{Ed025's Note - i must admit that i do like pochittino schmid his brand of football is very entertaining, i cant fault koeman at the moment, his handling of barkley has been superb and everton are fitter than they have ever been so im happy there, his past does not bother me mate...its his future that im interested in..
