Sky have put a decent article on their website comparing Herrera, Romeu and Kante.
Herrera comes out on top in 5 out of the 10 stats compared.
With all this love we have for Kante, is Herrera given enough credit?
What's the general feeling from rival fans about Herrera?

He is a fantastic player, he is also intelligent and appears to have a real passion for the club. For me he should be next captain.

Makes you wonder why he was ignored so much last season and why we were playing a striker in midfield. I think his energy and enthusiasm is infectious he is a super player. Also he apoears to be intelligent and a throughly nice guy. I think those stats would surprise a few.

I posted about this a couple of weeks ago, comparing Herrera with Kante and Matuid using the Squawka comparison matrix. I love the guy, his willingness to engage fans and talk to the press. He seems eloquent, smart and genuinely a lovely guy, though he also can stick in a challenge and is pretty proficient in the dark arts of the game. I think he'd be a fantastic captain and hopefully in that position he could inspire his level of work rate across the team.

He gets my vote for next captain. He seems the sort of guy that would carry the armband with honour and pride, and as others have said his energy is contagious.

I think what compliments him best is a classy type footballer like carrick and would love if we could somehow snap up kroos.
