Delighted with last night's result. Watching the highlights from last night's other games there are some really good teams left. Some potentially awkward destinations too.
Assumig we come through safely it would be nice to stay relatively local.
Roma lyon schalke and shaktar are teams I'd like to avoid but I wouldn't fear any of them.
Blackburn is our next challenge on Sunday let's hooe we can see them off often results the weekend after a European fixture are erratic I don't want anything to soul our momentum before the international break. 4 games and 4 wins in 4 different competitions over the next 14 days would see us in a very exciting position for the final 1/ 4 of the season.

Agree9 Disagree3

Good post Ken.

I was more impressed with how the team are working for each other.

Martial is like a different player at the moment, his work ethic is fantastic. Herrera does not stop but I am overall impressed by valencia.

Player of the season so far for me.

17 Feb 2017 20:09:18
Ken, agree on all above. thought we were poor first half. They could of scored one or two but was more down to us creating our own problems in first half. Second half we were much better, and this run or results needs to continue.

Angel, agree mate, Toni V is a revelation at RB. There aren't many in the world right now I'd swap him with tbh. Martial has knuckled down and is back to his best. And when he's playing like this his potential is frightening. He's brilliant on that left hand side driving into the box. Such a difference to last season eh.

17 Feb 2017 20:17:00
Herrera for me angel. But would not argue against valencia strongly.
A team should reflect their manager and I can see it developing in our team at the moment. A desire to win to work hard and not to fold under pressure and not to accept defeat.
Live chat was great last night.

17 Feb 2017 20:37:28
Stand totally agree on martial. Scholes and rio said the same about him coming from the left. He is a brilliant dribbler of the ball and he is working harder off the ball recently. Huge potential can only be realised with hard work.
Zlatan 23 goals is the signing if the season so far imo for any club in England.
We got away with a few last night but no matter what team you play you will concede chances.
If we win or next 4 games it really sys us up for a grandstand finish. We would have a trophy in the cabinet and have a last 16 tie and an fa cup 1/ 4 final to look forward to as well as a top 4 fight on our hands. Shades of 99.

17 Feb 2017 21:03:42
Great game last night and player of the season has to be valencia or Herrera and like you guys mentioned Zlatan is a big plus.

18 Feb 2017 05:38:38
I have been saying all season, Herrera has been POY for me. I also think he is a perfect fit for the captaincy.

18 Feb 2017 08:34:19
Herrera for me. He's starting to remind me of and old fashioned English midfielder. He covers every blade, puts himself about, good passer of the ball and has a goal in him. He's a late bloomer as well, and doesn't rely on pace, so surely has a good 6 years left in the tank at 27.

Tony V is a close 2nd and Ibra surely deserves a mention. Whether he works hard enough is up for debate, but he has 1 job and he does it well.

18 Feb 2017 11:21:33
Very close between the two.

I just think tony v shades it because I genuinely can't remember him making a mistake. His defending is incredible, positioning etc. Can't remember a left winger get the better of him and his engine is second to none. When he is out of the team we haven't got that attacking outlet at RB.

His crossing has come on leaps and bounds. For me at this moment he is by far the best RB in league if not then in Europe and is our player of the season.

I love how he is so underrated.

18 Feb 2017 11:51:44
Really like valencia too angel but I'm not quite sure he is at the level of lahm and a couple of others. His final ball let's him down too often to be in the very highest echelon. But he has developed to a very high standard.
I really hoe we can see shaw do the dame in the other side. Keys how the penny drops with him and that he gets his confidence and fitness bank to where it needs to be. Personally I'd like to see him play half a dozen games for the reserves to hasten his improvement. He is not even making the bench most weeks and while the standard at u23 is miles below epl it might help him get his match legs back somewhat.
I think over the next 2 games we will see our squad players get some game time especially next Thursday in France. They need to make the most of the opportunities they get because 8 or 9 of the first choice 11 is becoming very apparent at the moment . So when rotation comes about later in the season they need to be pushing their name forward now as one that the manager has faith in.
Young darmian shaw rooney and bastian all appear to be behind the likes of jessie rashford fellaini rojo and Jones at this time.

18 Feb 2017 13:36:06
Tony has been the player of the season .
To think people have questioned martial attitude lol.
Got dropped took it on the chin come back better .
Fantastic player with massive potential, i know ken can't mention his name with out saying he is lw winger ( because i said he isnt) but the lad looks better coming of the left. All his best work is when he comes off the touchline, only really starts out wide but doesn't get paint on his boots.
Young player learning his trade, got a big look of henry about him, can play on the left but has the talent to play right across the front line .
Will develope in to a cf i really hope he reaches the henry standard.

18 Feb 2017 14:13:37
Not everything is about you jred. What I say or think has no relation to what you say. Did Scholes and rio say he was a lw because you said he was a cf too? Or does your arrogance not stretch that far.
I think he is better out wide coming in I've been saying that for a long time.
Jose is the one who publicised martial needs to listen to him and not his agent and to get his head down and work hard so not really lol.
You said fellaini would be a Jose man you were right. You said rooney would be a good midfielder you were wrong. So everybody is entitled to their opinion we will be right sometimes and wrong sometimes but nobodies opinion on here is formed or repeated just because you say the opposite, especially mine.
You were going on about the level of abuse martial got on live chat before a game he was not even. playing in. the hull game. The transcripts are there for all to read. It was an argument as usual with you involved with one other poster who had a different opinion to you. Then 2 other posters gave an opinion and you twist that into a story of mass abuse on the live chat. There is no hate for martial the manager publicly said (and in Jose we trust) he needed to knuckle down and focus on what he wants from him and the player to his credit is doing that and reaping the rewards. Another case of great man management by the manager.
Young players will have ups and downs and swings in form until they find their level consistently. But many players start high and when they do find their level consistently it's not good enough for Manchester United. You consistently try and twist things and sensationalise points in order not to provoke debate but to provoke arguments. I find it hilarious 😀😀😀😀.

18 Feb 2017 15:21:11
My other post has gone missing so I will keep this short .
Martial got plenty of unwarranted stick just name calling really.
Not sure if it was the hull match or not and I'm certainly not going to read the transcript, to be honest I thought most got deleted I might be wrong .
But comments like martial is a &$_4 etc, isn't someone given an opinion it's abuse.
On martial we will wait and see I haven't changed my mind from a few weeks ago, has the talent to play right across the front 3 and will end up a cf.
Does all his best work when he comes inside and on Wednesday rotated the 9 with zlatan .
Only 21 will push on to be the next Henry imo.
Was at the match on Wednesday strange game and poor atmosphere to be honest although I was with the daughter.
Missed the live chat did I get a mention?

Interesting to hear Jose say the atmosphere in the dressing room was poor before the game.

18 Feb 2017 15:29:49
#thursday # even.

18 Feb 2017 17:45:15
If he's not there yet Ken, he is very very close. Final ball might let him down an odd time but everything else is on point. I can't remember a RB as good for us apart from neville.

Jred, give it a rest man, all you seem to do these days is moan about posters who don't agree with you. You continuously want to tell people they are wrong.

You don't see me harping on about how wrong you were about rooney. Just let stuff go instead of having a go, especially at Ken. He didn't even mention you and you're having a pop. Boring mate.

18 Feb 2017 18:45:14
Cheers angel good post.
I've no issue with banter a bit of slagging in fact I en cb our age it but just wanting to start a row all the time is petty.
Take CTR, deano ajh jamesbhoy betty beast yourself fzz 666 park herbie brfo stand jamie the moaner😀 sir alec leahy etc etc etc and most others all great crack and look for a bit of fun or debate not an argument. We all support the same team but have different opinions that's OK you know😊 even ed001 is great craic and he supports Liverpool😊😊😊.

{Ed001's Note - awwww I am blushing now kenneth!}

18 Feb 2017 18:58:27
Ed 001 don't blush it's not like your my favourite😀😀.

{Ed001's Note - that's good, the others would only get jealous if I were.}

18 Feb 2017 19:23:06
Angle
I think i agree with part of that, i think kens fishing has finally worn me down .
To be fair i always think i back up my opinion, maybe don't always agree but i thought 9 times out of 10 its banter .
its taken a few years to wear me down ;) and i blew my top before xmas there . Which i actually think improved the site and the live chat to be fair, lot less toxic but it maybe made me a bit cynical .
But the constant need for point scoring spoils it .

And i agree it gets boring.

18 Feb 2017 19:54:56
Again jred I have to stress I'm not fishing. I'm happy to have a debate anytime. I don't aim posts at you at all unless we are debating a point. You make some good calls and observations but other points you make i disagree with and I and others are entitled to counter that with our view points.
You were spot on with fellaini but you support the club and players your way but you have to accept that everybody is not the same as you. Stating opinions here about this player or that player is not a sign of non supporting it's just some people's perspective. When they run out on the pitch we are behind them all.
Nobody jumped higher than me when rooney scored v stoke for example or fellaini v Liverpool. Personally I'd rather if neither ever put on the jessy again but if they do and when they do I hope for nothing other than a goal or great performances from them. Please accept that.

18 Feb 2017 19:23:04
Bond is not the jealous type I'd say 001. Think he gets a bit jealous of the quality of the epl v the spl but I'm not sure he has ever mentioned it😂😂.

{Ed007's Note - Damn, I must have missed the EPL game that had all the quality in it. Which one was it because I only watch Man Utd games and it definitely wasn't any of theirs.}

18 Feb 2017 20:39:06
Ken
Everyone is different i don't get your comment of not wanting a united player to ever wear the shirt again .
But everyone is different (dont explain it ) i'm not that bothered we have different views.
I disagree with the fishing tho . i posted the other day i thought martial was more a cf, explained why its all I've heard since . Especially on the live chat your just looking for a bite imo . I wasnt on the live chat thursday but i would wager a bit you where hanging a line . But maybe i'm wrong .
But like i said above the point scoring is getting boring, for everyone i would imagine, if you make a point then have to defend it for a month . that's not banter imo (again each to there own) but that's the way its gone

And like i say to be honest its prob worn me down made me a bit defensive and a bit cynical to other posters.

18 Feb 2017 20:43:46
Boom . bond Is back😅.

{Ed007's Note - What happened to the last wee English pussy that thought he was too good for Scottish football - he lasted 8 games and still walked back into an EPL team!

18 Feb 2017 21:31:53
On live chat I take digs and slagging all the time mate. CTR james nou all had a pop at my age on thur all in good spirits I just don't get touchy when they hang a line. its all part of the craic I lovingly abuse james deano ctr and jamie regularly 😆😆 even red man has lightened up considerably and I always consider him to be one of the more serious posters. With a lot of good points but he does worry to much😀
If your going to be as forthrighht with your opions and views as you are and to me a lot of your posts come across as arrogant and with loads of double standards expect people to have a dig now and again. I expect it as I'm very forthright with mine just try to take it in better spirit and don't be as you say yourself worn down and cynical. No need to be defensive you are what you are and you believe what you believe. Lighten up its a banter site nothing to get worn down on. Relax / tranquillo.

18 Feb 2017 22:38:06
Ken
Thats the thing pal you come over as just looking for a bite and an arugement, constantly having a fish and a bit of an ar53 to anyone who has a different view .
I don't mind slagging or digs especially in a banter type manner but you go out your way to disagree if someone has a different view and keep at them untill they stop posting or stop posting a view point you don't like .
Its like the bloke in the pub you try to avoid
A lot of your post come across as if you have some need to be right all the time to pretend you know what your talking about or are ITK.
I don't get it, its just a banter site .
Lighten up respect my view and don't go on about it for months and years i don't get the obssesion with me?
But look i use the site to see other peoples points of view, if i want to have a laugh and a joke i will go out with lads or down to the match .
But i understand people use the site for different things .

19 Feb 2017 09:12:48
So what's everyone's view on rooney then?

19 Feb 2017 13:21:15
Bren
Made me laugh that.
