Anyone wondering who should replace carrick should switch on there tv and watch verrati tear Barcelona apart. I know it's not going to happen but he is a phenomenal talent. His vision is top class and he would be perfect to compliment pogba.

Love Verrati coukdnt agree agree more, Angel Di Maria though 😷 my memory is not as short as that. Not going to harp on about him too much about his effort in troubled times for us but the guy is now at PSG the place he wanted to really go in the first place before basically having no choice but too sign for us so I have no pictures in my head of wishing he was still here playing with miki and martial, We will have Griezmen fill the 7 shirt next season and show him how it should be worn and carried.

Verratti is a class player for sure but I think Matuidi helps him out a lot. Matuidi has such an engine on him that is non-stop the whole match.
What about the movement of Draxler though? Not the quickest but technically excellent. Really surprised he didn't end up in the PL.

I think Barcelona be looking for a new manager will need to start a lengthy rebuild judging by their performances this year. How poor was Neymar last night? Guys like him are overhyped and over paid in my opinion.

Shambolic performance by Barcelona and a bit amateurish. away tie in CL at a major club and they were wide open at. Jordi alba had a mare of a game.

I implore anyone to use Squawka's comparison matrix to look at Herrera, Kante and Matuidi - it makes some interesting reading! More tackles, clearances, interceptions per 90 minutes for Herrera. More passes, more forward passes, better dribbling stats. I could go on.
Stats obviously aren't everything, but after reading the lauding of Kante last week and now Matuidi too I think our little Basque engine is still chronically underrated! I think he's the perfect foil for a Kroos or Verratti type play maker and would love to see us bring one of those two in - way more than I want to see Griezmann.

^^^ I'm falling in love with Ander Herrera more and more each week. I hope he becomes club captain next season, he's the fire in the belly of the team. I can see him playing for another 7 or 8 years in a DM role.

I don't care whether di Maria played well or not the guy is the epitome of overpaid, unprofessional players. He embodies everything that is wrong with professional footballers. Draxler is a real talent and I was really hoping we signed him. Not blessed with explosive pace but his movement and footballing brain is second to none. Matuidi in a midfield three with pogba and Herrera could be really special he is an engine and I've always had a soft spot for him. Our ander had been phenomenal this season and has really stepped up as one of the leaders. Jose is starting to a build a core of players much like fergie had with Keane and others. That's what Arsenal lack at the moment. Wall the talent in the world but when the going gets tough they have no characters on the pitch. The players embody the manager and quite frankly arsene does not exude passions.

Good post Park. Most definitely agree RE di Maria but the lad has done well in Paris from what I have seen. If only United got Kante this season I feel the Devils would be sitting top and that is not an overreaction just a testament to what Kante brings to a team.
