Doesn't tell the full story though. Spurs have played a game more in that period, so we are only looking at the last 5 games for all the rest. Prior to that, we won 5 on the trot so 9 points from 5 games becomes 24 points from 10 games, which is better than all the rest appart from Chelsea who have 25 from the last 10 games.
Stats can be whatever you want them to be.

Not really my point, i thought we had made up more points on the other teams since jan 1st, that was the perception i had .
So i was surprised at the above stat.
The only thing that tells the full story is total points this season and we are 6th but again that's getting of topic.

We hae 3 points more than arsenal and Liverpool in the last 1 game. 😊
The 3 consecutive draws put a stop to our gallop after the turn of the year. So we need to build the momentum to full steam again.

Jred, I may be wrong but I think in the last 10 league games we have made up between 6 and 8 points on City, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

Jred, it was not a criticism of your post. Just highlighting that what you said can be misleading (not suggesting intentionally) . It's just the way it's worded by saying "this year". This year we have dropped 6 points out of 15. Go back 5 games more and we have dropped 6 points out of 30.
The cut off point, whether it be 2,5, 10 games or whatever can paint a completely different picture, that's all. You could say we have gained 3 points on Liverpool and Arsenal in the last 6 days.

Ajh no idea to be honest, it feels like we have made up ground which is why i got a shock when i saw the above stat.
I just look at 4th place and maybe the team in 4th keeps changing.

1st of jan we where 6th 3 points of spurs in 4th, i thought we where further off to be honest .
At the moment we are 6th 2 points of arsenal.

Yeah and 6 of those points came against relegation fodder. A lot of the big teams seem to have been playing each other recently.
That 3-0 win over Leicester shouldn't be fooling anybody, because we played just as we have the previous 5 league games - bad. Even the win against West Ham was dodgy as hell, bad sending off (they were looking better before that, and missed a sitter at 0-0, offside goal for us) . January was awful. Just like August, September, October and November.
But we did well in December, so everything's going great!

I guess it's where you cur it off. 10 games ago we were miles away, now we are in touching distance although we have missed 2 chances to properly catch up.

To be honest this table just confirms the feeling of the fans I speak to that since new year we have let a good opportunity slip with the draws. But it's been funny watching the Scouse lot bomb recently.
For what its worth I think we might go on a little run now and after the next 5 games find ourselves in the top 4.

We have a great chance of top four. Although we have several games to play during this run-in, so we'll need to use the whole squad. Schweinsteiger, Fellaini, Mensah etc.

We are 14 points off the top and 5 points from 2nd with 14 games left and only Spurs have lost fewer games than us. Chelsea don't look like dropping lots of points and the chasing pack will all drop points between now and the end of the season, so I'm sure we all agree 1st is gone. But Top 4 gone? Really? 2nd would be difficult, but it's still on.
