Good result today, takes a bit of pressure off. Horrible first 40mins, but hopefully a corner is turned now.

Good banter on live chat today

P. S. Frankfurt just score a pen, 10 mins left, come on you sausage men.

Beast mate, I can't find the data but I am sure tha in the last 10 league games we have made up 8 points on Liverpool and Arsenal. Given we are now only 1 and 2 points behind we just need to keep doing what we are doing, It's Chelsea's title, City seem to be back, Spurs are consistent but beyond that I think we are currently the best of the rest. We have not lost on the league for ages, in a Cup Final, a game we should win to get into the last 8 of the FA Cup, and into the knockout stages of the Europa. It could all go wrong but right now we are making progress.

If that one comes in beast there has to be a new handbag in it for beast. 😁 hope they hold on. agree great on live chat today . plenty of banter. great to see betty and a couple more join in.

It's good to take part Ken. I often log on to see how it's going but more often than not it's so negative and bichy that a don't bother. Live chat really is a good thing to have, and it's so much better when we win or are winning. Bitching and shunting is replaced with banter and a good laugh. Long may it continue.

Ajh
I would agree with that, think city might pip spurs for 2nd, don't rate the scouse that much, think 4th could come down to us and arsenal.
My only issue is the amount of games coming up.

Love having your honesty objectivity and positivity about Betty.
Still have a way to go to get into top 4 and then cement that position. But this season could well be one of the greatest in our modern history with a fair wind and some luck behind us.
Our new signings, bailly has been awesome and is improving with every appearance
Ibra 20 goals and only 1st week in Feb that's an awesome record not many have done that for us. In all likelihood will get 35 plus goals and end up the leagues top scorer. When was the last time a utd player did that?
Miki finding his feet and improving with each game looking like he will be a huge asset. Plenty doubted him 3 months ago.
Pogba. Been a bit hit and miss but done well overall in my opinion our 2nd top scorer in all comps and has hit woodwork 5 times. He is still getting used to the pace of the game and is only a couple of years older than martial as is bailly. He will improve no end over next 2 seasons
Therfore I trust the managers judgement. Imo his 4 new buys and him trusting herrera and improving valencia are the decisions carrying the team through this great undefeated run.
So if he does want some others out as per some reports like martial or shaw or rooney or darmian or blind I'm prepared to trust his judgement on that.
Jose knows what he is doing I think we will win something this season and I think we will qualify for cl and I think we will do the same and improve next season.
15 games unbeaten in the league is the best from any team in any top European league.
I agree there were a couple of draws in that run which should have been wins. We are on the way back building momentum and I'd rather be in the positive camp than the negative one.

{Ed025's Note - i enjoyed that post ken..

Cheers ed. and your guys are going to pass your neighbours I think. When does a blip become a flop? ? Koeman is a really good manager. Not everybody's cup of tea but he knows what he wants and he knows how to get a team functioning.
Lots to be positive about.
The fixture pile up is a positive as I see it as we have a good squad so there should be games for everybody which keeps players upbeat and makes for a happy camp. Even the limes of rooney darmian fellaini and other perenial substitutes can look forward to starts which keeps them motivated. Whereas if we only had 14 league games we would potentially only use 14 players leaving the other 10 very frustrated and unhappy.

{Ed025's Note - carragher said basically the same ken how strong the united squad is compared to liverpool, the bench at liverpool looks bare in comparison to uniteds mate..

great post ken couldn't agree more. Still lots of improvement to be done in certain areas but we are clearly moving in the right direction. I say let's strap ourselves in and look forward to the next couple of months because we could be sitting down at the end of the season with 3 trophies (unlikely but you never know) . Onwards and upwards.

Jred, as much as it pains me to say it but we should pick one of the Europa league or the FA cup and play a strong team in that and then play the kids/ squad players in the other one. If they do well then great they get some game time and maybe play themselves into contention for the first team. If not and we get knocked out then its a few less games to worry about.

I saw something earlier this week that said we have a maximum of 30 games left where as Chelsea have 20, and the others in the top 6 have around 25.

Considering two of our last three games are against Arsenal and Spurs I do worry we could burn out before those games.

Personally I would concentrate on the Europa League as it looks very winnable, where as City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs are still in the FA cup. We are likely to have to beat at least two of them to win the cup. Also the Europa league comes with the added bonus of a UCL place for the winner. Then consider our game against Blackburn in the FA cup comes just before the EFL cup final.

Its a shame as I think the FA cup deserves more than being an inconvience but for us at the moment I think it is.

Decent post that hopefully people will trust the manager if he doesn't sell x y and z as well .

05 Feb 2017 19:41:54
Glad we didn't think like that in 99 shappy😀.

05 Feb 2017 19:44:35
Shaps
I could see that becoming arsenal spurs and city at the end of tbe season.

Superb ken 👏👏.

I know, which makes it more important to be sensible about the teams we put out in the cups.

I see no issue with playing a mostly squad/ youth team against Blackburn, tell them its their chance to pur themselves in contention for the EFL cup final squad.

I would like to think our squad players/ youth players are good enough to beat a championship side, with the added motivation of potentially playing themselves into a cup final team I see no reason to risk injury/ loss of confidence to first team players the week before a final.

Different time in 99 ken, for a start we were in the UCL and was playing Tues/ Weds rather than Thursday. Which means even if you don't train on the friday its not a proper rest day as your travelling, which only gives you Saturday to prepare for the game on Sunday.

Also we didn't have an EFL cup run to give us even more games.

Add to the fact that only Arsenal were really challenging us in the league at that time. Things were very different back then.
