I just hope he works harder than he has the last couple of seasons. If he does that, he is in the team every week, easily.
Proving others wrong isn't important. Proving it to himself is.

Last couple of seasons? He was brilliant last season then snapped his leg in half, some people never recover from that. Bit harsh to say he wasn't working hard IMO just to get back playing from where he was is impressive.

Gds. Just reading from the Eds book. Injury aside he is lazy according to them.
I commend him for returning to football after that injury. Great achievement. Lucky he is able to. Maybe Jose called him out for nothing then and should just leave him be.

angle to be fair he did have a sore leg last season ;) started it well tho .
looked great at southampton, maybe took him a year to settle at united after a big money move at the age of 18 .
but he has been unlucky and had a few injuries, players need games and shaw has only 41 apperances in the last 2 and half seasons .

Jred, don't think it's a case of proving anyone wrong. I haven't seen anyone who thinks he's a poor player. In fact we're all in agreeance he can be world class. What a few like myself have issue with is his obvious inability to keep his body in the best physical condition to reach that level! I hope he can sort it out and be our LB for 10 years.

I'm the only one who can't see what the fuss is all about. His first touch is terrible and I don't think that'll improve. His crossing is average. And his positioning is poor as mourinho pointed out.
But more importantly, his attitude is not great and lvg, Hodgson and mourinho have all mentioned it. So that's a big worry.
Best left back in the world? Are you having a laugh? He's not even in top 5 in the PL. I'll be surprised if he's still here next season.
